The Opportunity
Hyper Hippo is seeking an enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator to join our Marketing team on a 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about tech, social media, and building dynamic online communities. You’ll work hands-on with channels like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, TikTok, Reddit, and Twitch, learning the ins and outs of engaging a diverse audience and honing your skills on multiple platforms with an eye towards driving new players to our games and giving existing players incentive to return.
As a Social Media Coordinator, you’ll have the chance to contribute to strategy and take charge of the end-to-end editorial process for several products, making a real impact on our content’s reach and resonance, and bringing new players to our games. You’ll also be a key player in our community, actively engaging with fans and even stepping into the spotlight as the face of Hyper Hippo’s content, creating fun and relatable posts that connect with our audience on a personal level.

A Social Media Coordinator’s Impact
Work with department heads to create and execute social media strategies to maximize impressions, engagement and conversion
Write, edit, and proofread copy for all posts based on brand guidelines
Develop written materials including, social posts and Q&A
An intimate working knowledge of all major social media platforms, including: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Stories, Giphy, Tik Tok, etc.
Utilize content creation tools to produce video and image content. (Adobe Suite, Canvas, In-Platform Content Creation)
Identify opportunities for our brands to inject themselves into cultural moment through social listening
Manage the distribution of all content through our scheduling dashboard, monitor performance and report out on ley metrics & impact
Work with Product Marketing Lead to build social strategy and upkeep a monthly Social Calendar.
Work with our Community Engagement Manager to gather community feedback to help guide our player first content strategy
Explore key market opportunities and create content for an international audience
Your Track Record Includes
2+ years of experience working in a social media capacity
A willingness to play our games to gain an intimate knowledge of the products
Resident expert on social media tools, trends, applications, and opportunities
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Positive attitude, high energy, and an eagerness to learn
Creative, self-motivated, able to take initiative and work well in teams or individually
Ability to think critically and multitask
Driven to take responsibility for assigned tasks
Outstanding organizational skills, with keen attention to detail
Experience with Adobe Photoshop, videography, and photography
Post-secondary education preferred in marketing, communications, journalism, creative writing, or new media
Nice to have: Experience working in an agency or the gaming industry
Nice to have: An understanding of the mobile gaming landscape or industry
