Senior Software Engineer [T500-14591]

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of complex solutions, coding larger features from start to finish
• Actively participate in planning, and performing code and architecture reviews of their team’s product
• Help ensure the quality and integrity of the SDLC for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works, through usage of recommended tools and practices.
• Lead the triage of complex production issues across systems
• Demonstrate creativity and take initiative in solving complex problems
• As a high performer, consistently deliver a high volume of story points relative to their team
• Aware of the technology landscape, plan delivery of coarse-grained business needs spanning multiple applications
• Influence technical peers outside their team
• Set a consistent example of agile development practices and coach other engineers to work as a team with Product and UX
• Create and improve internal libraries and tools
• Provide technical leadership on the product and determine technical approach
• Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager
• Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues
• Show a commitment to delivery deadlines, in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buy’s continued success

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Advanced level of React Native Experience creating mobile applications for iOS and Android
• Experience with Expo, Mobile App Statistics and Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
• Ability to build and optimize mobile applications and platforms in a cloud environment with a solid understanding of system design
• Understands React Webhooks and Redux
• Firm grasp of the JavaScript language and its nuances, including ES6+ syntax
• Knowledge of functional programming
• Excellent communication skills, especially when working with a distributed team
• Proficient in creating Unit Tests using Junit and Jest or similar
• Experience with Modular Design patterns
• Experience with Aggregate Restful services and/or GraphQL

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment
• Experience creating stateful mobile applications
• Knowledge and experience with “CI/CD” tooling and platforms, tools like GitHub, Jenkins
• Ability to work in a test-driven development environment
• Familiarity with Jira
• Familiarity with Miro
• Familiarity with Figma
