Intro

As a Senior React Native Developer at FRVR, you’ll be joining the team responsible for Upit, FRVR’s groundbreaking new social platform where communities come together to play and co-create games. Upit is a space born out of curiosity, collaboration, and innovation—a social network where users not only connect but also harness AI tools to fuel game creation. You’ll be at the forefront of mobile development for Upit, bringing your expertise to expand and enhance this platform, from its current features to exciting future functionalities.

Challenges & Responsibilities

• Support the mobile development for Upit, collaborating with designers and other engineers to build and enhance a great user experience.
• Implement new features like push notifications, real-time updates, and monetization capabilities to create a robust, engaging mobile experience for Upit’s community.
• Own the end-to-end development process, especially in features requiring close integration between iOS and Android.
• Contribute to the community-driven focus of Upit, enhancing the mobile experience to support a variety of social interactions and game creation tools.
• Utilize React Native’s cross-platform capabilities to maintain consistency across mobile and web, ensuring Upit’s users have a cohesive experience no matter where they log in.
• Take a consultative role early on, identifying potential improvements to the platform and sharing your insights with the team.
• Collaborate closely with a small, agile team, providing mentorship and fostering a collaborative development culture.

We are looking for someone with:

• Advanced skills in React Native and TypeScript, with a strong grasp of mobile-first, cross-platform development.
• Solid knowledge of Expo, the React Native ecosystem as a whole, and best practices to guarantee solid performance across devices.
• An appreciation for the craft, who likes to write clean + maintainable code and really takes pleasure in going the extra mile to deliver something they’re happy with—both from an engineering and product standpoint.
• Experience with complex mobile feature implementations such as real-time interactions, notification systems and complicated animations or state transitions
• Proactivity and independence in solving problems—able to prototype and iterate solutions without heavy oversight.
• A strong understanding of product design and user experience, and a good eye for detail, especially within social or community-driven platforms.
• Familiarity with Svelte, TailwindCSS and SSR to help out with the site
• An interest in keeping up to date with the latest trends in tech, who keeps an eye out for new approaches and ideas to solve problems
• Proficiency in Node.js or Golang is a plus for backend collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills and assertiveness; willing to offer and take feedback in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
• An entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset, ready to work in a fast-paced, startup-like team.

If you also have these experiences, it will be a bonus:

• A background in community-driven platforms, social networks, or gaming products.
• Familiarity with backend systems and full-stack development. Golang, MongoDB, SQL, distributed systems, message brokers, etc
• A consultative approach to problem-solving with a willingness to challenge the status quo to benefit the team.
• Strong collaboration skills and experience in contributing to team and product development discussions.
• Knowledge of current mobile and gaming trends and an interest in AI-driven or community-driven innovations.
