Job Description Summary:

What you need to know about the role
We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer 3 to join our innovative development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and associated frameworks, with a focus on delivering high-quality software solutions. You will work collaboratively in an Agile environment, utilizing your expertise in Spring Boot, JPA, and Oracle to drive project success.


Meet our team
You will be part the PayPal Savings Product. The team is composed of engineers from different domains and expertise, ranging from UI, Native app developers, Backend engineers and product/design teams. You will be part of the dynamic work culture in the team that drives engagement to Savings customers of PayPal and leverages engineering of Balance product which acts as a core PayPal product. You will be taking care of challenging projects and have complete ownership of different backend components and also involved in day-to-day relationships with product stakeholders.

Your way to impact

Savings is a core PayPal product that enables the customers to have a savings account within PayPal. This product is used by different other products for leveraging the benefits of interest accruals to the customers. You will be part of the team that drives and powers the whole Savings products hence making a big impact to overall PayPal app.

Your day to day

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Java applications using Spring Boot.

• Implement and manage data persistence using JPA and Oracle databases.

• Utilize Spring JDBC for database interactions to ensure efficient data handling.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and deliver solutions.

• Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices in Test-Driven Development (TDD).

• Integrate messaging systems using AMQ for reliable communication between services.

• Utilize Git for version control, ensuring proper documentation and management of code changes.

• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance development processes.

What do you need to bring

• Experience with Juno or similar caching tools.

• Knowledge of additional frameworks or languages.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.

• Proficiency in Spring Boot, JPA, and Oracle database management.

• Experience with Spring JDBC and messaging systems like AMQ.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.

• Strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in teams

• Strong hold on Git and github platform and API mock platforms like postman.
