Job Description

Rackspace seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer for a 4-month contract (likely to extend) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Responsibilities include designing and managing DevOps pipelines (GitLab, CircleCI), ensuring seamless integration of DevOps tools, deploying Kubernetes solutions, managing microservices, supporting customer environments, optimizing CMP infrastructure, and collaborating across teams. The role requires 5+ years of DevOps experience, 3+ years in Python, Kubernetes expertise, cloud platform knowledge (OpenStack, VMware), experience with Terraform and Ansible, and strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash). Arabic language skills are advantageous.

Role Overview

As a Senior DevOps Engineer within our Cloud Management Platform (CMP) team in Saudi Arabia, you will be at the forefront of designing and managing intricate DevOps pipelines for a key client. Your expertise will contribute to the seamless integration of leading tools, ensuring the resilience and security of networking protocols and infrastructures.

This role will be permanently on-site with a customer in Riyadh (KSA).

Arabic language skills will be highly advantageous.

This is initially a 4 month contract, with high likelihood to extend.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage robust DevOps pipelines utilizing tools like GitLab, CircleCI, etc.
Ensure seamless integration of DevOps tools, optimizing processes for efficiency.
Examine technical prerequisites for Kubernetes deployments among prospective clients.
Develop and deploy Kubernetes solutions tailored to meet customer demands.
Lead the deployment and day-to-day functioning of Microservices solutions.
Provide active support and management for customer environments, guaranteeing reliability and optimal performance.
Ensure seamless integration of DevOps tools, optimizing processes for efficiency.
Oversee and optimize the CMP infrastructure, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Collaborate across teams, providing expert insights for issue resolution and enhancing deployment strategies.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a DevOps position
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Python development.
Proficient in deploying and troubleshooting Kubernetes environments, showcasing extensive expertise.
In-depth knowledge of cloud services and platforms, such as OpenStack and VMware.
Demonstrates familiarity with various container orchestration platforms, highlighting a versatile skill set.
Experience in Linux system administration, covering distributions like RHEL and Ubuntu.
Strong automation skill with Terraform and Ansible.
Experience of scripting languages Python, Powershell, Bash.
Expertise in managing and integrating DevOps tools, including GitLab, CircleCI, and SonarQube.
Excellent problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
Good networking knowledge, with a focus on deploying and managing networking and security tools, including F5 and Palo Alto.
