We have a great dev culture, promoting new ideas and discussions within the team and are keen to have your input.
About the role:

- You will attend technical meetings to provide clarity about the development you are involved with.
- You will be in constant communication with your team, the pipeline team, as well as with your production, if you are assigned to one.
- When you work at project level, you will be developing solutions with a specific project in mind, and expanding the company pipeline capabilities in a project agnostic way.
- When you work at core level, you will be developing solutions for all project workflows, company wide.
- You will be documenting new and existing workflows for the benefit of the technical and creative teams.
- We work with the Shotgrid Toolkit Framework, so experience in this area and or any other Asset Management systems is a must.
- Our software stack involves Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, Katana, Nuke and Houdini, as well as Toon Boom Harmony. Experience in one or multiple of these DCC API is required.
- Excellent Python coding skills are a must. C++ knowledge would be a bonus for squeezing that extra performance needed in certain places.
About you:
- Must have previous pipeline production experience (Animation preferred, but VFX can also be considered)
- Experience with Katana preferred, we are working on improving our lighting pipeline.
- Sydney candidates preferred, but we are open to remote opportunities within Australia or candidates open to relocation to Sydney.

- Technology stack: python (100% a must), Shotgrid API (90% a must), Shotgrid Toolkit (90% a must), REZ (not a requirement but ideal if you have used it), windows OS (not a requirement but ideal if you have used it), c++ (not a requirement but bonus), Jenkins (not a requirement but bonus)
- Bonus if you have contributed to other open source projects (github, bitbucket, gitlab)
- Bonus for experience of leading pipeline in a past project.
As a (Flying) Barker and member of the pipeline crew:
- You excel at identifying how to automate artists' workflows, so they do not have to repeat the same thing over and over.
- You are an excellent problem solver with attention to detail, identifying how to split a complex task into smaller, more manageable ones.
- Communication with others is second nature to you, ensuring the flow of information with production, artists and pipeline stays active.
- You can identify when to invest time solving a problem properly and never look back, or make a one off exception and solve it now by whatever means necessary.
- You are a fast learner, and never afraid to be involved in new workflows, new applications, new code, or even old code, to get familiarised with.
- You are not afraid of refactoring code when the job requires it, or adding value to existing code by keeping consistency when it makes more sense.
- You are not shy when it comes to proposing your ideas for new workflows.
- You are a team player, can support your peers and artists when they are in need, and escalate issues if necessary.
- You are able to prioritize tasks to have the most impact with the time and resources available.
