Job Description

We are currently looking for an Infrastructure Engineer (SCOM) to join our growing team in one of the biggest European organizations.

Tasks:

  • Administration, support and maintenance of the SCOM infrastructure in multiple environments for Windows and Linux servers using gateways;
  • Design, implementation and maintenance of SCOM infrastructure to the latest available version;
  • Design, implementation and maintenance of operational procedures for the management of the SCOM-related infrastructure components and technologies;
  • Creation, configuration and adjustment of SCOM Management Packs for in-house developed solutions and/or COTS products spread across multiple active directory domains with the use of scripts and automation;
  • Technical analysis, investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of incidents or problems affecting the client's ICT physical and virtual infrastructure;
  • Review and implementation of technical requirements for ICT solutions;
  • Lead and/or participate in multi-disciplinary project teams and ICT development initiatives providing technical advice and reviews of technical designs of ICT infrastructure solutions;
  • Monitor the performance of the technical interdependencies of the data storage, physical and virtual infrastructure components deployed in the production environment to prevent incidents and problems as well as for the capacity planning;
  • Provide guidance, technical advice and engineering support to other teams in the Department in the area of infrastructure services and monitoring;
  • Expansion of the current monitoring with new features/requirements - analysis of the current setup, design and implementation;
  • Creation of SLA availability reports for solutions/applications - maintenance and changes;

Qualifications

Who you are:

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor plus a minimum of 10 years of experience as an IT professional working in a medium-sized enterprise ICT environment
  • Fluency, in English, to at least B2 level according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
  • More than 8 years of experience in working as an IT professional in mid/large and complex IT infrastructure environments.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with implementing, supporting and maintaining Microsoft SCOM monitoring including SCOM gateways
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with the creation and configuration, adaptation, of SCOM monitoring management packs for in-house developed and/or COTS product applications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with scripting/automating system administration tasks
  • Experience with migration of SCOM 2016 to 2019 and/or 2019 to 2022, in multi-domain environments including gateways and monitoring rules settings (related to infrastructure, network, databases and applications monitoring)
  • Experience with SCOM and ITSM tools integration to allow full automation of ticketing and alerting
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Public or Hybrid Cloud Services (Azure or AWS) including monitoring
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft SCOM monitoring technology, including the implementation, support, maintenance and upgrade of SCOM versions, as well as the configuration of monitoring rules for infrastructure, network, databases and applications
  • Good knowledge of SCOM Management Pack authoring for building custom management packs, predominately using VSAE in Visual Studio
  • Good knowledge of how to design, document and create scripts implement automation for recurring tasks and optimize existing processes
  • Knowledge of incident, change and release management

Desirable:

  • Certification in the areas above mentioned, especially on Microsoft SCOM
