FitXR is a fitness technology company working at the cutting edge of VR and MR, building a movement for movement.
We started life in 2016 in a garden shed in the UK. Today, we’re building FitXR, one of the top-downloaded apps on the Meta Quest store. We’ve raised close to $30m from top investors such as Maveron, Hiro, and BoostVC.
We've built a growing range of fitness studios, from box workouts with world-class trainers like Olympian Nicola Adams to immersive Zumba dance classes. While nothing compares to trying it yourself, you can watch a trailer here.
Our team is distributed across Europe and the US. We’re guided by our Principles of Play: four core beliefs about how we treat each other and our community. We make space for every voice, believe in the importance of a learner’s mindset, and prioritise team success over individual glory.

What you’ll find here
A highly collaborative team of multi-disciplinary specialists, who manage a huge range of experimental and high-impact product initiatives - your thoughts, challenges and ideas are actively encouraged!
An ambitious but ambiguous environment - we’re here to build a category-defining brand and product that radically changes how people experience fitness. This means there is no defined path for us to follow: we’re breaking new ground every day and learning as we do. You’ll thrive here if you’re as passionate as us about changing people’s lives for the better while being comfortable navigating ambiguity and creating your own certainty in the uncertain
A culture built on delivering greatness, iterating, sharing feedback and trying new things - we want you to take bold bets focused on driving value to our customers, and tell us what you learn if it doesn’t work!
A highly invested senior leadership team who believe our people are what will take our business to the next level - they are your teammates, cheerleaders, coaches, support team - working beside you as we build the #1 immersive fitness app in the world
Strong foundations, but an openness to work your way - we have a high quality bar when it comes to delivery, but teams have the freedom to self-organise how they achieve this
Where you’ll spend your time
Creating high-quality stylized VFX assets that sync well with the pre-existing art style inside the Unity Engine.
Working closely with other departments to support and resolve challenges.
Helping to shape the experience by offering critique and iterating in a group setting.
Contribute to the development of shaders and material that fit within the existing style.
We’d love to see from you
A strong portfolio with reels of your work that demonstrate your skill in VFX creation.
Experience in creating optimised VFX for mobile and VR hardware such as the Quest 2.
Solid understanding of the artistic and technical aspects of real-time visual effects.
Experience creating shaders using Unity’s ShaderGraph.
Knowledge of languages such as C# to support your VFX is a bonus.
