As an External Development Supervisor at Treyarch, you'll champion external content development, overseeing key aspects of production for globally-released games. Responsibilities include orchestrating art outsourcing with third-party vendors, managing budgets and forecasts, establishing workflows and specifications, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and fostering positive relationships with external partners. You'll contribute creatively to game production and ensure efficient, high-quality outsourced content. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proven track record in game development outsourcing.
Must have:
  • 3+ years game industry experience managing art development pipelines
  • Shipped at least one AAA console/PC title as outsourcing manager
  • Comprehensive understanding of game development process
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, and reporting
  • Strong leadership and team building skills
  • Proficient in scheduling, setting milestones, and meeting deadlines

  • Exceptional knowledge of task-tracking software (Jira, Shotgun)

Job Description:

As an External Development Supervisor at Treyarch, you will be the champion of external content development, overseeing a key development component in producing exciting experiences for millions of gamers across the globe!

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team, where you will establish and maintain relationships with reliable third party vendors to facilitate and achieve production goals with the best outsource content possible.

What you’ll do…

  • Effectively orchestrate and drive art outsourcing efforts with our third party vendors to ensure solid and sustainable production results.
  • Forecast, update, and revise projections to ensure budgets are planned and managed accurately.
  • Identify outsourcing needs, establish workflows, technical and artistic specifications, and establish an effective feedback process between production, artists, and third party vendors.
  • Guide a multidisciplinary team of coordinators, production staff, art staff, and content integrators with a focus unifying processes for maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Share your deep passion and knowledge of outsourcing capabilities with others to ensure the outsourcing experience is enjoyable for all parties involved.
  • Contribute creative and original ideas towards all aspects of game production and development.

To succeed you should have…

  • 3+ years in the games industry, including experience managing game art development pipelines.
  • Shipped at least one AAA console/PC title as an outsourcing manager or similar production role.
  • A comprehensive understanding of game development process, including asset creation and integration best practices.
  • Experience predicting, identifying, and resolving outsource pipeline risks.
  • Experience managing budgets, including forecasting, updating, and reporting.
  • An inspiring ability to lead by example echoed through a professional and egoless personality.
  • A history of building teams that thrive on supporting other teams.
  • Proficiency with developing schedules, setting milestones, and deliver against agreed deadlines.
  • Proven track record in focusing on priorities, managing change, and coordinating efforts to overcome any resistance, setbacks, and obstacles that may arise.
  • Rock-solid written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience navigating 3rd party vendor evaluation and authorization processes.
  • A passion for games and game art.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
