Job Description

Release Manager to oversee and coordinate the release of software and system components within our Telecom BSS/OSS environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in release management, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of telecom operations and systems. Experience Required

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in release management, preferably in a telecom BSS/OSS environment.

Proven track record of managing complex software releases and deployments.

Experience with coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple releases simultaneously.

Duties & Responsibility

Release Planning And Coordination

  • Develop and manage release plans for software and system components within the BSS/OSS domains.
  • Coordinate with development, QA, operations, and other stakeholders to schedule and plan releases.
  • Ensure alignment of release schedules with business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Process Management:
  • Define and implement release management processes and best practices.
  • Manage the end-to-end release lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, deployment, and post-release activities.
  • Ensure that all releases adhere to quality and compliance standards.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with releases, including potential impacts on existing systems and services.
  • Develop and execute rollback and recovery plans for release failures.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Communicate release schedules, status, and issues to stakeholders, including technical teams and management.
  • Prepare and present release reports, including metrics and performance indicators.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to release processes, schedules, and configurations.
  • Ensure that release documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Analyze release processes and performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the release management process.

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of BSS/OSS systems and telecom operations.
  • Proficiency with release management tools and technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Git, JIRA).
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and deployment processes.

Educational Background

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Certifications (Optional)

  • Certification in Release Management, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), or related disciplines can be advantageous.
