Our client is seeking an Esports Product Lead III to join their dynamic team. This role is centered on creating an engaging esports scene for their upcoming 2D fighting game. The successful candidate will work closely with the fighting game community, fostering a vibrant and competitive environment for both professional and semi-professional players.
This is a full-time 12-month + contract opportunity that is hybrid onsite in Los Angeles, CA.
Esports Product Lead III Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning, execution, and evaluation of esports initiatives, including setting goals, overseeing budgets, and delivering insightful reports on performance metrics.
- Partner with fighting game tournament organizers, team owners, and pros to establish the game as a premier title in the global competitive fighting game scene.
- Collaborate with publishing and game development teams to integrate major game moments with the competitive ecosystem seamlessly.
- Work with content, social, and influencer teams to spotlight standout players, fostering fandom and community growth around rising superstars.
Esports Product Lead III Requirements:

7+ years of experience in esports product management or tournament management

Deep knowledge of the fighting game community (FGC)

Experience in partnership development and community management

Experience building new initiatives/products from the ground up

Strong communication skills and ability to deliver clear communications in 1-to-many settings
- Ability to negotiate and accomplish deals with tournament organizers, production companies, broadcasters
Esports Product Lead III Qualifications:

Experience launching new games

Experience working with the fighting game community globally, especially in Europe and Japan.
