Summary
As Director of Marketing, Communications & Brand, you’ll drive (in partnership with CMO and leadership) a comprehensive brand refresh, own the activation of the brand across all touchpoints (digital and traditional assets), and partner with the Vice President of Growth Marketing to implement full-stack marketing strategies to support the company’s aggressive growth plans.
This role is crucial to elevating GlobalStep’s brand, presence and leadership position within the computer game industry, and as it continues its foray into digital experience services and adjacent industries. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing impactful marketing and sales assets and executing successful marketing campaigns across all channels. This position requires a passion to understand the gaming landscape, an acumen for driving growth through innovative marketing initiatives, and an ability to think strategically but roll up your sleeves and create.
Responsibilities
Brand Stewardship and Refresh
- Partnering with CMO and leadership, own and drive the GlobalStep brand refresh – based on our vision and plan, elevating and modernizing the brand to best portray our ideal state.
- Lead the revitalization and consistent implementation of the company’s brand identity across all platforms and materials, ensuring a unified and compelling message. This includes updating visual assets, messaging, and brand guidelines.
Marketing Strategy Development and Execution
- Partner with Vice President, Global Marketing to develop and execute comprehensive, full-funnel marketing strategies encompassing digital marketing, content marketing, social media marketing, public relations, events, and other relevant channels to drive brand affinity, lead generation, and customer acquisition.
Content Creation and Management
- Oversee the creation of high-quality, engaging content across various formats (blog posts, articles, case studies, videos, social media updates, website copy, etc.) as applied to different stages of the customer/prospect journey.
Digital Marketing: Website & Social Channels
- Execute the brand refresh across all digital channels.
- In partnership with CMO, marketing team and leadership, lead and own the website(s) and social channels update to reflect the new brand.
Sales/Marketing Asset for Lead Generation and Nurturing
- Develop all sales/marketing assets required to fuel our lead generation strategies and nurturing campaigns to capture leads, convert leads into qualified prospects and ultimately, customers.
- Own the sales/marketing asset library, with priority emphasis on creating branded, consistent, modular PowerPoint presentations
Market Research and Analysis
- Conduct ongoing market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, informing marketing strategies and product development.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented environment with in-house staff as well as outside agencies, freelancers and vendors. Collaborate effectively with other departments (development, art, IT) to ensure messaging and strategy alignment with effective communication.
Performance Measurement and Reporting
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on marketing performance, demonstrating ROI and identifying areas for improvement.
Event Planning and Management
- Plan and execute industry events, conferences, and online webinars to promote the company’s services and build relationships with industry influencers and potential clients.
Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years in senior marketing communications and/or branding roles; 5+ years in marketing creative roles – or similar experience (e.g., Creative Director at an ad or digital agency) with a proven track record of driving growth in technology-driven industries.
- Branding & Storytelling Expertise: Exceptional ability to craft brand strategy, positioning and messaging and activate the brand across all touchpoints. Must be an excellent storyteller and content creator.
- Marketing Campaigns: Proven track record of successfully building, launching and scaling marketing campaigns, thought leadership initiatives, and communications campaigns (internal and external)
- Leadership: Proven ability to build and manage an “in house agency” – team of creatives, copywriters, designers, and marketers to support growth marketing initiatives and empower sales teams.
- Collaboration. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, small team environment.
- Communication: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for leveraging creative (video, audio, art, etc.) to deliver the message.
- International Experience: Experience and demonstrated success in marketing strategy, planning, campaign management, and communications globally.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, creative, Business Administration, or a related field.
General Technical Skills
- Knowledge of and familiarity with CRM lead management tools (such as Pardot, HubSpot, Marketo and Oracle Eloqua).
- Familiarity with the leading digital and social marketing platforms (such as Google and LinkedIn). Including familiarity with advertising technology platforms (such as Google Ads and AdRoll).
