Tesla Energy is seeking a Commercial Operations Intern to support its growing team in Australia. This internship offers hands-on experience in retail electricity operations, focusing on B2B and B2C activities. Responsibilities include assisting with daily operations, customer account management, data accuracy, service order execution, and supporting projects related to customer account data and operational improvements. The intern will collaborate with various departments (Engineering, Customer Support, Compliance, Finance) to enhance operational efficiency. This role involves reviewing and maintaining standard operating procedures, identifying areas for improvement, and contributing process enhancement ideas. The ideal candidate will have a relevant Bachelor's degree, operational experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel. Experience with data analysis and process improvement tools is a plus.

What to Expect

The Tesla Energy Team is seeking a Commercial Operations Intern to support our growing Commercial Operations team. This fast-paced, hands-on internship will provide invaluable insights into the energy industry, particularly in the realm of retail electricity operations in Australia. 

You will work closely with multiple departments, including Engineering, Customer Support, Compliance, Finance, and external stakeholders, to help optimise processes and drive efficiency across our operations. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your professional skills in a rapidly evolving sector. 

What You’ll Do
  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) retail activities, with a focus on customer account management, data accuracy, and service order execution.
  • Support projects related to customer account data, service orders, and operational improvements, helping track progress and ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner while gaining exposure to project management best practices.
  • Assist in cross-functional projects by working closely with teams such as Engineering, Compliance, Finance, and Customer Support to support the development and implementation of processes that enhance operational efficiency within the retail business unit.
  • Support the review and maintenance of existing standard operating procedures by identifying potential areas for improvement and contributing ideas for process enhancements under the guidance of senior team members.
What You’ll Bring
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an operational role, preferably within the technology or energy sector.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships across multiple functions and teams.
  • Self-driven, goal-oriented individual with a proactive attitude, capable of following instructions while challenging the status quo to drive innovation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy in data management and documentation.
  • Technologically adept, with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience with data analysis (i.e. SQL) or process improvement tools is a plus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
