Job Description
As a CAE Analysis Engineer at Tesla in Berlin, you'll be a key player in developing next-generation products. Responsibilities include developing durability finite element models, optimizing vehicle architectures, questioning traditional CAE methods, performing analysis for manufacturing and assembly, and providing design direction based on your analyses. You'll collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and utilize CAE tools to optimize performance across various vehicle sub-systems. The role requires strong skills in FEA, solid mechanics, CAD modeling (CATIA), fatigue analysis, and excellent communication abilities.

What to ExpectWhat You’ll Bring
As an Analysis Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of next generation Tesla products. You will review and optimize revolutionary products never-before executed. You will be brilliant both technically as a person, and as an engaged member in a diverse and dynamic cross-functional team environment. You will work with Vehicle Engineering teams to understand the performance of future vehicle designs and with Test Engineering teams to develop tests, correlate simulation models, and improve the predictive capability of Analysis Engineering at Tesla.
What You’ll Do- Develop strength and durability finite element models for analysis and optimization of revolutionary vehicle architectures in collaboration with a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers
- Question established traditional CAE methods and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Use CAE tools to optimize performance for BIW, closures, chassis, and other sub-systems
- Perform analysis for feasibility for manufacturing, assembly, and service processes
- Support world-class engineering teams with design direction based on your analyses
- Quickly learn the tools necessary to execute, and modify, or create new tools as necessary
- Produce and perform concise management summaries and report-outs
- Education in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with theoretical knowledge of finite element analysis and continuum mechanics
- Deep understanding of mechanics of materials, statics, and dynamics
- Experience in Finite Element Analysis, Applied Solid Mechanics, and Numerical Methods within a product development environment; Skilled in 3D CAD modeling - CATIA v5/v6 and experience with fatigue analysis
- Understanding of theory in a range of mechanical engineering subjects, including heat transfer, vibrations, controls, and fluid dynamics
- Strong in optimization tools and techniques
- Understanding of statistics, knowledge of Python or C and a good experience with Linux
- Capability to concisely convey technical communication. Excellent attitude, organization skills, and self-motivation
