The ideal candidate has experience in business development, partnerships, or sales within gaming, entertainment, or tech, proven negotiation skills, market analysis abilities, and strong relationship-building skills. Enthusiasm for games and gaming culture is essential.

Cloud Imperium Games is seeking a skilled and adaptable Business Development Manager in Manchester to develop and execute innovative global Business Development strategies for  Squadron 42.

Founded in 2012 by renowned game developer Chris Roberts, Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) is one of the largest global independent studios, dedicated to delivering next-generation AAA games. What does a Business Development Manager do at CIG? 

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and capitalize on new market opportunities, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional gaming experiences. 

  • Research and assess new business opportunities in and outside of the gaming ecosystem, including partnerships with Media, Hotels, Sports, Liquor brands, etc 

  • Stay ahead of market trends, player behaviours, and competitive dynamics to drive informed decision-making and maintain a strategic edge. 

  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, publishers, and technology partners, to foster collaborations that deliver mutual value. 

  • Lead negotiations and manage the lifecycle of business deals, ensuring terms align with company goals and objectives. 

  • Partner with internal teams, such as development, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of new partnerships and initiatives. 

  • Represent the company at gaming events, expos, and networking opportunities, showcasing our brand and identifying new prospects. 

  • Define, measure, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for business development initiatives. 

What are we looking for from a Business Development Manager? 

  • Demonstrated experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, ideally within the gaming, entertainment, or tech industries. 

  • Familiarity with gaming platforms, trends, monetization models, and emerging technologies 

  • Proven ability to lead successful negotiations and close impactful deals. 

  • Ability to analyze market opportunities and translate insights into actionable strategies. 

  • Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with external partners and internal teams. 

  • Proactive and adaptable, with a drive to succeed in a dynamic, fast-paced industry. 

  • A genuine enthusiasm for games and the gaming culture, with insights into player communities and experiences.
