WHAT IS THIS ROLE ALL ABOUT?

Greetings, brave adventurer! We’re looking for a Brand Manager mage in EMEA to join the ranks of our Marketing Guild and help build the future of the realm. Ready to slay dragons? Venture forth.

 

Wizards of the Coast, creator of Magic: The Gathering TCG & Digital Games; and publisher of Dungeons & Dragons, is seeking a Brand Manager, EMEA to help with the planning and execution of our MTG Universes Beyond EMEA marketing campaigns. The candidate should have experience in marketing high-profile, multiplatform games, and brand/product marketing experience in a customer-focus entertainment or software company.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities For This Wizard

  • Support the Marketing Lead in developing the long-term strategy for MTG Universes Beyond in region to meet both short and long-term business objectives. 
  • Develop and implement best-in-class product marketing plans for MTG Universes Beyond releases across the EMEA in coordination with the Marketing Lead, EMEA and in alignment with the overall franchise strategy.
  • Assist in managing the licensor relationship, crafting presentation materials for meetings.
  • Work closely with retail marketing, sales, social and community, PR, events and broader business stakeholders to formulate omni-channel plans which align to the global/regional strategy and messaging.   
  • Research and advise on both business and marketing opportunities to drive revenue growth within local markets in the EMEA region, including sourcing any new IPs for collaboration.
  • Alongside fellow brand managers, manage our agency network to develop local market media plans, source local influencers, identify relevant consumer events for participation, as well as handle budgets within approved thresholds to support product releases.
  • Collaborate with the EMEA PR agency to develop and run tactical PR plans for Universes Beyond product releases, as well as managing media relations.
  • Partner with the local market Social Media & Community Managers to deliver omni-channel campaigns and grow the MTG community across EMEA.  
  • Solicit, track, and report regularly on community sentiment and discussion. Coordinate with management and internal teams to implement appropriate action plans.
  • Analyze performance, and optimize all MTG Universes Beyond marketing campaign in EMEA for increased efficiency.
  • Become the brand guardian for Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond in the region, including communicating any local market nuances and localization.
  • Deliver presentations and updates to internal partners and the EMEA senior leadership team.

 

AM I QUALIFIED? (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

Experience Creating and Casting these Spells:

  • Educated to degree level, Business or Marketing disciplines is a plus  
  • 3+ years’ experience in physical/digital product marketing, ideally with a leading digital game/entertainment/service-oriented company
  • Strong understanding of, and appreciation for geek and gaming culture, previous knowledge of Magic: The Gathering products is a plus

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Characteristics of the Ideal Wizard:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Evidence of ability to collaborate, persuade and influence
  • Ability to write effective briefs
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data effectively to optimize plans
  • Experience of writing and delivering effective presentations
  • MS Office

 

Travel Requirements (% of time per year)            

  • Up to 5%

 

Time Expected to Reach Full Performance Level in Position:

  • 3 months

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Office/home office environment, able to work on computer or phone for long periods of time.
