Responsibilities include writing and managing scope documents, designing equipment specifications, leading technical event teams (both in-house and contracted), developing event schedules and budgets, ensuring on-site safety compliance, creating technical guidelines and checklists, developing equipment manuals, maintaining relationships with equipment suppliers, and collaborating with various stakeholders. The role demands proficiency in audio, lighting, video, and other technical areas, along with strong computer skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high-pressure environment.

Job Description:

Job Summary:

As Associate Technical Director, you will assist technical, creative and production team in a variety of ways and at various levels of responsibility. Assignments may include assiting Technical Directors on large projects or leading smaller projects with varying levels of supervision. Projects may include new offerings, maintenance projects, special events and seasonal events both on and off property

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for writing and technical management of scope documents;
  • You will develops appropriate design and specifications of the equipment to support artistic vision demonstrating fluency in audio, lighting, and video;
  • You will lead in-house and contracted technical event teams;
  • You will develop schedules for event technical staff and production elements;
  • You will create technical event budgets and documentation;
  • You will oversee and ensures full onsite safety compliance;
  • You will create technical sections of operating guidelines and safety checklists as required;
  • You will create equipment manuals as required;
  • You will develop and maintains relationships with local equipment suppliers;
  • You will partner with other lines of business, vendors, contractors, and relevant regulatory agencies;
  • You must demonstrate an to self-manage schedule and production timelines, work alone, and lead teams;
  • You will also perform work assigned by managers.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of entertainment technical experience;
  • Degree in technical theater or equivalent work experience;
  • Strong technical skills in at least three areas including audio, electrical, lighting, rigging, scenic construction, special effects, show control, and video;
  • Ability to handle multiple high-pressure projects in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Project, Sketch-Up, and AutoCAD;
  • Ability to partner with other lines of business, vendors, creative and production staff, and crew members.
