Job Description

The Area Mechanic Plumber at Walt Disney World is responsible for routine and corrective plumbing maintenance across the resort. This includes installation and repair of various pipe types (copper, PVC, cast iron), servicing/replacing plumbing fixtures (valves, toilets, sinks, etc.), and operating waste line cleaning equipment. The role involves responding to trouble calls, working from heights and confined spaces, and handling cleaning chemicals. A valid Florida driver's license and 4+ years of journeyman plumbing experience are required, along with pump troubleshooting/repair skills and blueprint reading capabilities. The position requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and excellent communication skills. Work schedules vary due to the 24/7 operation of the resort.

Must have:

4+ years journeyman plumber experience
Valid Florida driver's license
Plumbing fixture repair/replacement
Pipefitting (copper, PVC, cast iron)
Blueprint reading
Ability to lift 50lbs

Good to have:

Commercial plumbing experience
Experience with K-50, K-60, K-1500 equipment
High-pressure sewer truck operation

Job Summary:

The Area Mech Plumber is responsible for routine and corrective maintenance in all aspects of plumbing throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts. The Area Mech Plumber is familiar with plumbing tools and equipment. The field service position may include work from elevated platforms and confined spaces throughout the Walt Disney World Parks and Resort property.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $28.45 per hour.

Responsibilities:

Perform installation and repair of copper, PVC, and cast iron pipe
Conduct general plumbing to include servicing, repair, and replacement of valves, water closets, urinals, faucets, sinks, etc.
Respond to trouble calls or tickets for plumbing concerns
Operate waste line cleaning equipment including K-50, K-60, K-1500
Operate a high-pressure sewer truck
Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications:

Valid Florida driver’s license
Four years’ minimum experience as a journeyman plumber
Experience with pumps, to include troubleshooting, rebuilding and replacement
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, materials list and develop prints for permit submittals
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices

Preferred Qualifications:

Four years’ or more experience in a commercial setting or industry where plumbing and pipefitting were the main responsibility
