We’re currently seeking a highly skilled Aerial Research Photographer for a Global Real Estate Data Brand. This unique role offers the opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge team that captures aerial real estate imagery and video for a variety of clients, from residential renters to commercial real estate owners.
About the Role:
As an Aerial Research Photographer, you’ll be an integral part of the flight team, flying over target markets to capture high-quality images and videos of real estate properties using advanced mapping and imaging technology. Your work will provide valuable insights and data to clients across North America, contributing to their decision-making in the real estate industry. You will travel to different markets, work closely with pilots, and communicate with clients, all while ensuring your equipment is in top working condition.
Remote (Candidates must be located near a major airport)
*This role will require 10 days of solid travel and then have 10 days off.
(Including travel in US, Canada and Mexico - Valid US Passport needed)
*Must be comfortable with travel and flying in smaller planes for the shoots.
*Real Estate Portfolio needed, preferably of commercial sites + buildings
Key Responsibilities:
- Flight Planning & Coordination: Partner with pilots to plan flights and work with Air Traffic Control to secure flight approvals.
- Market Exploration: Fly over target markets, searching for new commercial real estate developments and identifying key properties.
- Data Collection: Use GIS tools like Churchill Gear System, Foreflight, and Google Earth to gather data during flights.
- Aerial Photography & Videography: Capture video of properties using a turret-mounted camera, including both known and newly discovered sites.
- Post-Flight Data Management: Extract, label, and upload images from videos for each target property.
- Client Engagement: Professionally communicate with sales teams and clients to arrange flights, host clients during flights, and provide detailed explanations about the process.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the camera system and gimbal are functioning properly before each flight, and coordinate repairs if necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant working experience in photography, videography, or a related field.
- Willingness to travel frequently, flying from market to market across North America.
- Current US Passport is required.
- Flexibility to travel and be away for up to 10 days at a time.
- Minimum of a high school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of air navigation, meteorology, and aircraft operating procedures.
- Strong understanding of Architectural Photography, with a portfolio demonstrating artistic vision and creativity—preferably with real estate photography or drone work.
- Ability to tackle the challenges of photographing buildings and neighborhoods in both suburban and urban environments, and find creative solutions to shooting in various conditions.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop strong connections with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability.
