Job Description

As a Project Coordination Intern at Walt Disney Imagineering, you'll coordinate the quality, schedule, and scope of projects. This includes streamlining communication, product movement, and process flow from concept to closeout. You'll maintain a broad perspective across teams, preventing duplicated efforts. Projects may involve themed entertainment experiences, the Play Disney App, or digital media/visual arts. Responsibilities include working with creative teams, managing work scope, developing scope lists and deliverables, gathering design input, monitoring communications, creating presentations, coordinating mock-ups, and liaising with vendors. You'll also connect with senior-level team members for updates and issue resolution.
Must have:
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Understanding of creative development/process
  • Ability to collaborate within project teams
  • Driver's license
  • Enrolled in accredited college/university
Good to have:
  • 1+ year project management experience

About the Role & Program:   

Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions and cruise ships worldwide. Working across a spectrum of teams that range from creative and conceptual to scientific and technical, Imagineers blend an innovative mixture of storytelling, art, science and technology to create immersive experiences, memorable destinations, and innovative entertainment for families around the globe! 

The approximate date of this internship is June 2025 to January 2026  and will be located in Orlando, FL. 

What You Will Do:  

As a Project Coordination Intern, you will be responsible for coordinating the quality, schedule and scope of Company projects by ensuring streamlined communication, product movement and process flow from concept design through implementation and closeout. The Coordinator must consistently maintain a bottom-up, broad perspective across all teams in order to ensure that all aspects of the work are covered and no efforts are duplicated.  

Walt Disney Imagineering Project Coordination Interns may work in support of a variety of projects, including (but not limited to) the development or redesign of themed entertainment experiences, support of the Play Disney App, or the production of digital media or visual arts projects. You will have the opportunity to… 

  • Work with the creative team on the day to day needs of experience design projects 
  • We manage a definable scope of work with the guidance of senior team leaders 
  • Develop and/or maintain scope lists, show lists, deliverable matrixes, shipping documents 
  • We gather design input and distribute communication 
  • Monitor meetings and other communications and provide updates as vital in order to ensure accurate integration and to resolve issues in a timely manner 
  • Partner with various teams to create physical and digital presentations throughout a project’s life cycle 
  • We coordinate mock ups and vendor liaison issues 
  • Connect with more senior level Project Coordinators, Producers, Show Managers, Project Managers, and team Leads relative to status updates of schedule progress, design inputs required, completion of design achievements, metrics on earned value, etc. 

Required Qualifications & Skills:  

  • Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop, and Illustrator 
  • Ability to edit video clips within a presentation if vital 
  • Understanding of creative development/process and workflow for sophisticated projects 
  • Ability to integrate collaboration within the project team! 
  • Appreciation for an integrated design and production experience with multiple teams 
  • A driver's license is required for this role

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Minimum 1 year related project management experience

Education: 

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university, earning a degree in  theater, environmental design, or other entertainment or business related fields

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:  

Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:  

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship  
  • Be at least 18 years of age  
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization  
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work  
  • Must be fully available for the duration of the internship

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate level students.
