The Identity Product team is at the heart of this, powering the entire journey from registration to privacy choices, and we're looking for an Observability Product Manager to help us maintain the reliability of the Identity systems. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our service reliability strategy, ensuring that our identity services—like login, registration and account management—run smoothly. You'll have the opportunity to implement an advanced observability program, building a world-class system for monitoring and proactively detecting issues. With your work, millions of Disney guests worldwide will enjoy flawless interactions with our identity solutions, enabling guests to engage with their favorite experiences from Disney+ streaming to theme park ticketing. By enhancing the performance and reliability of these critical identity systems, this role will ensure that guests are always ready to interact with the magic Disney offers. Responsibilities: Define and implement a comprehensive observability vision across Identity, ensuring the stability and performance of Disney's identity services Build dashboards that provide real-time views of service health, enabling immediate detection and resolution of potential issues Establish a proactive alerting system that flags critical incidents before they impact guest experiences, minimizing downtime Create a standardized observability framework that allows for a holistic view of service ecosystems, identifying risks early and enhancing overall reliability Partner with Engineering and Program to resolve incidents quickly, troubleshoot system issues, and contribute to the long-term resilience of services Contribute to the development of long-term strategies that ensure consistent service reliability, and help define the product roadmap to continue delivering magical guest experiences Demonstrates a proactive approach by anticipating challenges, identifying opportunities, and driving initiatives to enable effective outcomes
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Product Manager
  • Proven track record of success in building and executing observability strategies
  • Working knowledge of Datadog or similar observability tools
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to drive product decisions
  • Strong ability to collaborate across teams
  • Align stakeholders on product plans
  • Operate in a fast-paced, agile environment
  • Experience working within agile software development environments
  • Leading squads through scrum processes
  • Deep appreciation for Disney’s mission to create magical experiences for guests, fans, subscribers and viewers

The Commerce, Growth & Identity (CGI) team is dedicated to three business-critical areas at Disney that will help transform its media business. They create seamless user experiences for consumers who can choose from a wide range of subscription plans, enabling more choice and flexibility. The CGI team is also focused on building innovative and cutting-edge capabilities that will drive subscriptions, engagement, and monetization across Disney’s streaming and digital products.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA, Glendale, CA, and Bristol, CT is $152,200 to $204,100 per year, in Seattle, WA and New York, New York is $159,500 to $213,900 per year and in San Francisco, CA is $166,800 - $223,600 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
