Reporting to the SVP, Digital Distribution, the Senior Manager, Digital and Entertainment Analytics will play a key role in growing our brands’ footprint across ad-funded platforms (OTT, CTV, Social, FAST…) and informing our strategy/priorities across the Entertainment division.

The Senior Manager, Digital and Entertainment Analytics will be responsible for developing and curating the Digital and Entertainment-related data and the analytics practice. They will measure how much attention our digital network and entertainment business captures and determine how to maximize it. They will have the backing of an engineering team and outside resources to do this but will need sufficient technical knowledge to direct those resources and perform high-level manipulation themselves using SQL in addition to authoring dashboards in common BI tools.

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Extensive experience in entertainment or digital content-related analytics with a proven track record of deriving actionable insights and making strategic recommendations that drive business growth
  • Experience translating stakeholder requests into technical requirements for data engineers
  • Proficiency in analysing market trends, content and monetization data across digital platforms to inform strategic decisions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with a major BI tool: Tableau, Looker, PowerBI
  • Proven experience writing SQL to prepare data for analysis
  • Outstanding project management and prioritisation skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and objectives
  • Experience in managing and mentoring resources
  • A passion for the digital and entertainment industries with a strong understanding of channel management (YouTube ideal) and content monetization
  • Being a self-starter with a can-do and proactive approach to lead complex analysis and projects to completion

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Publish dashboards that allow users to self-serve basic queries on top of entertainment data
  • Provide opinionated KPIs by which stakeholders can judge their entertainment outputs and make better decisions
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis based on stakeholder priorities and needs to drive profit upside and/or improve efficiency
  • Develop and maintain an intake and prioritization process with stakeholders
  • Set the team’s strategy and articulate the mission for the stakeholders; publish standards for ways of working, service levels, and deliverables
  • Specify and document data sources and transformations to provide “Data as a Product” for the Entertainment domain: AVOD, SVOD, broadcast media, short form video, Social and film
  • Perform discrete studies on key topics or events (such as films or series launches) and report the results back to stakeholders.
  • Negotiate with data- and service- vendors and shepherd the contracting and payments processes for them; seek out and evaluate new sources as necessary.
