Job Description

The YouTube Commerce team at Google accelerates YouTube's paid ecosystem growth by supporting scalable, compliant, and performant commercial journeys for all users. The role involves developing the YouTube Commerce Platform, empowering teams to build and launch paid products. Responsibilities include writing product/system development code, participating in design reviews, code review, contributing to documentation, and triaging/resolving product/system issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development, data structures and algorithms, and ideally experience with large-scale infrastructure or distributed systems. The team works at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and creativity, aiming to provide everyone with the power to share their story and connect with others.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2 years software development experience (or 1 year with advanced degree)
2 years experience with data structures/algorithms
Code writing, design reviews, code review, documentation
Debugging and issue resolution

Good to have:

2 years experience building large-scale infrastructure
Experience with distributed systems or networks
Experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an
academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

2 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
