Job Description

As a Software Engineer III, Commerce at Google, you'll design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions critical to Google's needs. Responsibilities include writing product/system development code, leading design reviews, reviewing peer code, contributing to documentation, and triaging/resolving product/system issues. You'll work on large-scale systems, utilizing data structures and algorithms. The role requires proficiency in C++ and experience with data analysis and visualization tools. You will manage project priorities and deadlines, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality software while adhering to best practices and contributing to a culture of innovation.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years C++ or 1 year with advanced degree
  • 2 years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • Code development, review, and debugging

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
  • 2 years of experience with performance, large scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.
  • Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
