Job Description

As a Senior Snowflake Engineer, you'll be a key operational engineer delivering business tenancies within the data platform strategy. Working closely with other teams, particularly the London core team, you will develop and support the AWS & Snowflake-based cloud data platform. Responsibilities include migrating data from legacy platforms, designing and implementing scalable data solutions using new technologies, and contributing to innovation in the data space. You will be part of the Group Risk IT Concorde program, working with product teams to build automated data pipelines and structures using tools like SQL, dbt, ELT, Spark, Airflow, Python, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab). Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Jira is also required.
Must have:
  • Design & development of automated data pipelines and data structures
  • 7+ years data engineering experience with 3+ years hands-on Snowflake experience
  • 3+ years Python programming experience
  • 3+ years experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab
  • 5+ years working with Agile Delivery teams (Scrum, Kanban) and Jira
  • Proficiency in SQL and dbt
Good to have:
  • Experience in the financial industry
  • Knowledge of Market/Credit Risk and Clearing

Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer you will be a key operational and hands-on engineer delivering business tenancies as part of the data platform strategy execution across all areas of the business. You will work closely with other teams, especially the London core team in a multi-functional set-up.

The Data Engineer will be an experienced data professional to help develop and support this Data platform.

You will work on developing and supporting the AWS & Snowflake based cloud data platform as well as helping to support and migrate data from legacy platforms. This is an opportunity to play a key part in the roll-out of a new cloud-based data platform and the role would suit an ambitious individual keen to develop their skills and knowledge.

You will act as a member of the Group Risk IT Concorde program and work with the product teams to design and implement modern, scalable data solutions using a range of new and emerging technologies contributing to innovation in the data space.

Skills

Must have

Design and development of automated data pipelines and data structures

7+ years of data engineering experience for data warehouse solutions including 3+ years hands on experience for solutions using Snowflake, SQL, dbt, ELT, Spark, Airflow

3+ years of working with Python Programming

3+ years hands on knowledge of building and executing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitLab.

5+ years working with Agile Delivery teams (Scrum, Kanban) and JIRA

Nice to have

Experience in the financial Industry

Knowledge of Market/Credit Risk and Clearing
