Position: Shipper/Receiver 
Location: Vancouver, BC 
Hours of Operation: 10:00am - 2:00pm PST 
*Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 CAD hourly 

 
POSITION SUMMARY: 
Reporting to the Vault/Shipping Supervisor, the Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the inventorying, maintenance and management of the Vault Department for a Post Production/VFX House as well as operation of the shipping and receiving department. Organized, professional and customer-service focused, this person is detail oriented and able to work efficiently within a team environment. 


MAIN DUTIES: 
The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for all incoming and outgoing physical assets, utilizing tracking software to inventory and then allocate to the correct department/personnel within the facility. The assets are time-sensitive and confidential and must be handled accordingly. They will review and implement physical asset protocols for various Production cycles, and coordinates with the Dailies and Data IO department to organize the daily physical deliverables of local Productions and review for errors before passing to clients. Additional responsibilities include: 

  • Organize local couriers to pick up and deliver physical assets.  
  • Organize national and international shipments using a variety of shipping methods: courier (Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc.,) freight forwarding companies or Brokers. Ensure secure and proper packaging and accurately complete necessary paperwork to ensure timely delivery without delays.  
  • Coordinate with Production and IO Departments to organize physical media backups. Label and create shipping schedules of client media backups and execute accordingly. 
  • Organize and maintain physical element Library. Maintain accurate databases to meet client and facility standards.   
  • Organize incoming and outgoing electronics/computer shipments for the IT Department.  
  • Maintain Lab Access Agreements and liaison with the Legal and Sales Departments to ensure proper storage and release of client assets. 
  • Work with the Accounting Department to ensure vendor shipping invoices are efficiently organized and maintained.   
  • Experience with MetaVault Library Software tracking systems, such as MediaPulse and Atlas Confluence/JIRA would be considered an asset.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential.

  • Ability to exercise tact, discretion and judgment.  
  • Ensure absolute confidentiality and security of client physical assets. 
  • Some physical labour including moving of packages will be required
