Job Description

Meta's Wearables team is developing products to enhance human connection. As a Sensor Hardware Electrical Engineer, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to design and integrate cutting-edge sensor solutions into battery-powered products. Responsibilities include collaborating with research teams to bring sensing technologies to production, leveraging analog circuit design and optoelectronics to build prototypes, optimizing sensor architecture, and working with manufacturing partners. You'll also perform lab measurements, troubleshoot issues, and drive technical solutions with various teams. The role requires experience in consumer electronics, embedded systems, sensing technologies, and circuit design.

Must have:

Circuit design, board bring-up, and NPI experience
Leading technical teams and vendors

Experience bringing new technologies to product

Meta Wearables team seeks a Sensing Hardware Electrical Engineer with system design skills and consumer electronics experience to develop and integrate sensing solutions in future Meta products.

Sensor Hardware Electrical Engineer Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross functional teams and external partners to push the boundaries of technologies and deliver best in class sensor solutions in battery operated products

Collaborate with internal research teams and bring groundbreaking sensing technologies from concept to production

Leverage strong analog, circuit design, and optoelectronics fundamentals to build, debug, and validate prototypes

Apply electrical engineering fundamentals to convert reference designs into custom product solutions. Design schematics, supervise board/FPC layouts, and actively participate in design reviews to support sensors integration into product

Optimize sensor architecture, sensor component selection and sensing system design

Work closely with CM/JDM resources to leverage their engineers and maximize the focus of internal resources on adding value to and differentiating our product

Perform lab measurements and factory tests as needed to validate the design and resolve any issues

Drive the resolution of technical issues by working with the cross-functional teams: Electrical, Mechanical, SW, Quality, Reliability as well as the various CM/JDM teams

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 4+ years work experience in Electrical Engineering

4+ years of experience in consumer electronics or related fields

4+ years of experience in embedded or mobile system design, sensing technologies and architecture, circuit design, board bring-up and product NPI experience

Experience leading technical teams, cross-functional groups and vendors

Experience with hands-on hardware bring-up, debugging, and functional verification

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience to bring new technologies to product

Demonstrated experience to integrate sensing technologies such as optical sensors, capacitive touch sensors or motion sensors in a product

Experience performing bench level power measurements coupled with strong analytical experience Knowledge of the relationship between physical layout and electrical performance

Experience in developing test scripts and firmware

Experience communicating novel concepts to broad audience succinctly and in simple term
