Summary

Axon seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer I to contribute to the reliable and consistent manufacturing of life-saving technology in their Phoenix facility. Responsibilities include developing and sustaining manufacturing processes meeting cost, quality, and cycle time requirements; evaluating processes for quality risks and implementing corrective actions; optimizing processes to maximize yield; researching and selecting manufacturing equipment and automation; and collaborating with cross-functional teams (Quality, R&D, Product, Automation). The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing, a strong problem-solving approach, and proven process improvement skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5+ years manufacturing engineering experience
  • High-volume manufacturing knowledge
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Process improvement experience
Good to have:
  • DOE or statistical methodologies experience
  • Robotics and automation experience
  • CAPA resolution experience

Your Impact
You will be part of a critical team that ensures life-saving technology can be manufactured reliably and consistently. You will work with a team of talented manufacturing engineers to support the equipment, processes and personnel in our Phoenix manufacturing facility for Axon’s De-Escalation Devices & accessories.

What You’ll Do
Location: Onsite at our Phoenix, AZ office
Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Manager, De-Escalation Devices
Direct Reports: N/A

  • Develop & sustain manufacturing processes that meet cost, ergonomic, quality, and cycle time requirements.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes for potential quality risks & lead corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risk
  • Be the team focal point for leading resolution of Manufacturing Quality CAPAs; collaborate with peers to devise & implement correction actions
  • Optimize processes to maximize yield through use of DOE, or other statistical based methodologies
  • Research, evaluate, and select manufacturing equipment, robotics, and automation technologies as appropriate to support production targets
  • Partner with Quality, R&D, Product, and Automation teams to ensure production outputs meet product and customer specifications.
  • Be a strong leader, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Manage projects effectively, with an ability to plan, execute, and monitor to meet objectives and timelines.




What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in high volume manufacturing industries
  • Applied knowledge of common manufacturing principles and standards.
  • Structured problem-solving ability
  • Ability to create clear, comprehensive, and concise documentation
  • Proven record of accomplishment of implementing process improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 88,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 132,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
