Your mission
We are Vertigo Games, developers and publishers of big hit VR titles like Metro Awakening, Arizona Sunshine and The 7th Guest. Our Amsterdam studio is gearing up to start development for a big IP project and we are looking to recruit a Senior Game Designer who can aid us in our mission.

Are you a professional Game Designer, who loves to get hands-on to flex your technical expertise and express your design passion? Then we should meet!
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate novel game design ideas and solutions in support of the project’s vision. 
  • Design and communicate game mechanics and complex systems.
  • Proactively plan and manage your workload and dependencies in the short and medium term.
  • Implement robust and scalable mechanics and systems in the Unreal Engine using Blueprints and proprietary tools.
  • Collect and analyze data to create options that can methodically drive design decision making.
  • Share your design knowledge and passion with junior team members, striving to elevate their skills and confidence.
  • Work autonomously in multidisciplinary teams.
Your profile
  • You have worked through the full game development cycle in a multidisciplinary team on a console or PC title.  
  • You know how to create unique player experiences whilst working within the boundaries of existing IP.  
  • You are skilled in multiple areas of design, including player mechanics, AI, and systems.  
  • You have proficiency with Perforce, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Discord, MS Office or equivalent tools.  
  • You act as a driving force in an inclusive collective creative process, delivering the best player experience and maximizing team ownership of their work.
Bonus points for
  • Having skills in creating a variety of placeholder content, such as 3D meshes, materials, voice or other audio, animations/particles, etc. 
  • Being a keen gamer and have controversial opinions to share on the development industry and its products.
