Position Overview:

As a Senior Game Designer, you will be responsible for the design and development of engaging and innovative gameplay experiences for casual mobile games. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to create compelling game mechanics, creative elements, and user interfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of player psychology, market trends, and best practices in game design, along with the ability to mentor junior designers and drive projects from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for designing core gameplay concepts and wireframe, including the creation of comprehensive game design documents and compelling pitches
  • Collaborate with the art and programming teams to ensure high-quality core gameplay features and systems.
  • Create and optimize the game's formulae and core game loops using mathematical models to enhance gameplay progression.
  • Conduct regular comprehensive research on comparable competing games and analyse pertinent gameplay elements to support the project team's decision-making process and enhance the game’s market competitiveness.
  • Perform regular reviews and provide insights that guide the design team in targeted optimization efforts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mobile game development, with at least 2 years in a Senior Game Designer role.
  • Shipped at least one full casual mobile game, from concept to release.
  • Strong familiarity with casual game genres such as match-3, synthesis, slots, and treasure battles, with relevant development experience.
  • Exhibit a passion for gaming across all genres, with a keen ability to interpret their nuances.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on active listening and articulate presentation.

    Bonus Skills:

    • A good grasp of public aesthetics, be able to put forward suggestions and methods for improving the existing project, and reduce user acquisition costs.
    • Experience in managing the development process and facilitating collaboration among the programming and art teams.
