Job Description

As a Senior Cyber Security Consultant at Google Public Sector, you will lead and mentor a team, oversee security systems deployment, assess threats, advise clients, and improve security operations. You'll be a key player in cybersecurity operations, developing and implementing advanced security strategies to protect critical assets. This role requires extensive experience in security assessments, design reviews, threat modeling, security engineering, and coding. The position involves working with software engineers to identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities, and requires a TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. Responsibilities include leading security analysts and incident responders, managing SIEM and IDS/IPS systems, and identifying and assessing threats.

Must have:

5+ years security assessment/design review/threat modeling experience
5+ years security engineering, computer/network security experience
5+ years coding experience
1+ year team leadership or technical risk analysis experience
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Good to have:

8+ years security operations experience (incident response, threat hunting)
Experience with threat intelligence platforms
CI/CD pipeline security integration experience
Scripting proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
Cloud security expertise (GCP), DevSecOps understanding

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling.
5 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols.
5 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages.
1 year of experience leading teams in a technical capacity or leading technical risk analysis in an enterprise environment.
Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:

8 years of experience in a dedicated security operations role, with a track record of success in incident response, threat hunting, and vulnerability management.
Experience with threat intelligence platforms and methodologies, including threat modeling, analysis, and dissemination.
Experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automating security tasks and developing custom security tools.
Understanding of the cloud security principles and best practices, with experience securing cloud environments (e.g., Google Cloud Platform (GCP)).
Familiarity with DevSecOps principles.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of security analysts, engineers, and incident responders.
