Job Description

The Senior Producer at Ghostpunch Games is responsible for the overall organization, planning, schedule quality, and budget of a project from concept to release. This role acts as project manager, coordinating work across internal departments (Art, Design, Programming, Sound). Responsibilities include developing project schedules, identifying milestones, assigning resources, reviewing design documents, facilitating communication, managing budgets, understanding and disseminating product vision, utilizing project management techniques, mentoring junior producers, handling personnel issues, reviewing testing, participating in post-mortems, and communicating with licensors. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of production/project management experience on at least 4 published game products, strong communication and leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of the gaming industry.

Le producteur(rice) sénior(e) chez Ghostpunch Games a la responsabilité globale de l'organisation, de la planification, de la qualité du calendrier et du budget d'un projet, de la conception à la livraison, et agit en tant que chef de projet. Le producteur principal doit planifier, surveiller et mener le projet à son achèvement en coordonnant le travail effectué par chaque département du développement interne (c'est-à-dire l'art, le design, la programmation et le son).

RESPONSABILITÉS:

  • Élaborez des calendriers de projet qui tiennent compte des caractéristiques prévues, du calendrier et des ressources du produit. Les calendriers doivent démontrer un plan efficace et efficient pour exécuter tous les aspects de la production du jeu (conception, art, programmation, etc.).
  • Identifiez et suivez les jalons du projet.
  • En collaboration avec les directeurs des arts, de la programmation et de la conception, affecter les ressources humaines à l'équipe de projet et diriger le travail quotidien de tous les membres de l'équipe.
  • Examiner l'aspect pratique de la conception de jeux et des documents de conception technique dans les paramètres définis par le temps et les ressources disponibles.
  • Faciliter la communication technique et non technique entre les membres de l'équipe et les départements.
  • Maintenez une communication cohérente avec les départements en dehors du développement interne (c'est-à-dire le marketing, le juridique, les services créatifs et les dirigeants de l'entreprise) et tenez-les informés de l'état du projet.
  • Gérer les budgets des projets et identifier et résoudre tout conflit potentiel entre les fonctionnalités du jeu, les ressources/le budget et le calendrier.
  • Comprendre, affiner et diffuser la vision du produit et contribuer à la conception des jeux.
  • Utiliser des techniques de gestion de projet traditionnelles et de pointe afin d'assurer une livraison en temps opportun, une qualité élevée, une utilisation efficace des ressources et un bon moral d'équipe.
  • Encadrer les producteurs adjoints et associés afin de développer leurs compétences et d'utiliser au mieux leurs talents.
  • Gérer les problèmes de personnel quotidiens pour les membres de l'équipe assignés, y compris l'évaluation performance et résolution des problèmes, le cas échéant. Appliquer des techniques traditionnelles de résolution de conflits au besoin.
  • Examinez la documentation des tests et le processus d'assurance qualité.
  • Participer au processus d'examen post-mortem pour aider à identifier les réussites et les obstacles de chaque projet et utiliser cette information pour améliorer les processus.
  • Participer à des démonstrations de produits et à des entrevues de presse au besoin.
  • Communiquer avec les concédants de licence au besoin et coordonner avec le service juridique concernant les questions de licence.

  • Doit posséder la capacité de communiquer avec succès avec les programmeurs, les artistes, les concepteurs, les ingénieurs QA et son et de faciliter la communication entre les différentes disciplines de développement de jeux.
  • Doit démontrer des capacités de leadership éprouvées, y compris de solides compétences en résolution de problèmes.
  • Exige la capacité de lire, d'écrire, d'analyser et d'interpréter la correspondance commerciale et juridique.
  • Doit avoir une compréhension approfondie des pratiques, des processus et des normes de l'industrie du jeu.
  • Doit avoir une compréhension approfondie des tendances de l'industrie du jeu en matière de matériel et de logiciels.
  • Doit posséder une connaissance à jour du produit de la console, y compris les exigences techniques de soumission et la connaissance de la distribution des versions.
  • Doit avoir été exposé à de nombreux types de jeux vidéo et devrait aimer y jouer
  • Doit avoir une solide connaissance pratique de MS Office, de la suite Google et des logiciels de gestion de projet.

Expérience du candidat:

  • Exige généralement un baccalauréat et au moins 8 ans d'expérience en gestion de production ou de projet ou une combinaison équivalente d'études et d'expérience de travail pratique.
  • Doit avoir de l'expérience en production interne/gestion de projet sur au moins 4 produits de jeux publiés, de la conception à la livraison.
  • Une formation en gestion de projet dispensée par un programme d'éducation ou de certification reconnu est préférable.
  • L'adhésion au PMI ou à une association professionnelle similaire de gestion de projet est préférable.
  • Une expérience en tant que programmeur, artiste ou concepteur de jeux est préférable.

Position: Senior Producer - Ghostpunch Games

The Sr. Producer at Ghostpunch Games has overall responsibility for a project’s organization, planning, schedule quality, and budget from concept to release and acts as the project manager. The Sr. Producer shall plan, monitor, and lead the project to completion by coordinating the work performed by each department within Internal Development (i.e. Art, Design, Programming and Sound).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop project schedules that take into consideration the product’s intended features, timeline and resources. The schedules should demonstrate an effective and efficient plan to execute all aspects of game production (design, art, programming, etc.).
  • Identify and track project milestones.
  • In conjunction with the Art, Programming and Design Directors, assign personnel resources to the project team and direct the day-to-day work of all assigned team members.
  • Review the practicality of game design and technical design documents within the parameters defined by available time and resources.
  • Facilitate technical and non-technical communication among team members and departments.
  • Maintain consistent communication with departments outside of internal development (i.e. Marketing, Legal, Creative Services and company executives) and keep them informed of the project’s status.
  • Manage project budgets and identify and resolve any potential conflicts between the game features, resources/budget and timeline.
  • Understand, refine and disseminate the product vision and provide input for the conceptual design of games.
  • Utilize traditional and cutting edge project management techniques in order to ensure timely delivery, high quality, effective use of resources and good team morale.
  • Mentor Assistant and Associate Producers in order to develop their skills and best utilize their talents.
  • Handle day-to-day personnel issues for assigned team members including appraising performance and resolving problems where appropriate. Apply traditional conflict resolution techniques as needed.
  • Review testing documentation and the quality assurance process.
  • Participate in the post-mortem review process to assist in identifying the successes and obstacles of each project and use this information to improve processes.
  • Participate in product demonstrations and press interviews as needed.
  • Communicate with licensors as needed and coordinate with legal department regarding licensing issues.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must possess superior oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess the ability to successfully communicate with Programmers, Artists, Designers, QA and Sound Engineers and to facilitate communication between the different game development disciplines.
  • Must demonstrate proven leadership abilities including strong problem solving skills.
  • Requires the ability to read, write, analyze and interpret business and legal correspondence.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of gaming industry practices, processes and standards.
  • Must have in depth understanding of gaming industry hardware and software trends.
  • Must possess up-to-date console product knowledge including technical submission requirements and knowledge of distributing builds.
  • Must have exposure to and should enjoy playing many types of video games
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, and Project Management Software.

Candidate Experience:

  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree and at least 8 years of production/project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and practical work experience.
  • Must have experience in internal production/project management on at least 4 published game products from inception to delivery.
  • Project management training from a recognized educational or certification program is preferred.
  • Membership in PMI or similar professional project management association is preferred.
  • Experience as a game programmer, artist or designer is preferred.
