Summary

Virtuos seeks a QA Lead in Shanghai to lead QA teams on key projects. Responsibilities include establishing and improving testing guidelines, training junior and senior QA, and bridging communication between production, engineering, and QA. The role involves hands-on leadership, defining testing plans and processes, ensuring quality deliverables, contributing to QA tool development, fostering teamwork, staying updated on industry trends, and working with producers and stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses at least 2 years of QA lead experience in the game industry (less acceptable with relevant IT experience), a proven track record of shipped games across multiple platforms, project and people management skills, and strong communication skills.
Must have:

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for candidate capable of leading QA teams on key projects in Shanghai, establishing and improving testing guidelines, training junior and senior QA, as well as being a communication bridge between production, engineering, and QA.

Responsibilities

  • Report to QA Director China.
  • Spend most of the time hands-on providing leadership by example.
  • Assist in the growth and development of the team members. Participating in trainings, reviews, and evaluations.
  • Working with producers and other stakeholders to define testing plans and processes (both for embedded Dev QA and external General QA).
  • Working hands-on with QA teams to ensure quality of deliverables and thoroughness of testing coverage.
  • Proactively contributing to development and deployment of QA tools.
  • Ensuring excellent communication, positive working relationships and teamwork within the development & QA team and across disciplines.
  • Keeping abreast of current trends in the marketplace especially regarding best practices, tools and processes.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in QA lead role in the game industry (could less if supported by relevant QA experience from other branches of IT industry).
  • Proven track record of shipped (preferable AAA) games on multiple platforms (PC, console, mobile) in senior or lead role.
  • Project and people management skills.
  • Good knowledge of testing methodology as well as required software (JIRA/TTP, Excel, PowerPoint…).
  • Good knowledge of QA tools covering different areas of development pipeline, their design & functionality.
  • Working knowledge of SCRUM and Agile practices.
  • Proficient in English (ability to speak Chinese is big plus).
  • Located in Shanghai, China (on-site)
  • Work well/respond to pressure.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Think critically and apply analytical skills in resolving complex issues.
  • Quickly master proprietary tools and development processes.
  • Strong videogames knowledge.
