Job Description

As a Product Manager for Backup and Disaster Recovery at Google, you'll work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch. You'll connect technical and business aspects, breaking down complex problems to drive development. The Backup and Disaster Recovery team delivers business continuity solutions for mission-critical workloads in Google Cloud and hybrid environments, protecting customer data and applications. Responsibilities include driving strategy and execution for protection features, managing the feature/release lifecycle, influencing product prioritization, accelerating adoption, and understanding the challenges of building a scalable service. You will partner with engineering, stakeholders, account teams, and solution teams to ensure success.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years product management or related technical role
  • 1+ year experience taking products from conception to launch
  • Cloud storage and public cloud ecosystem experience
  • Drive product strategy and execution
  • Collaborate with engineering and stakeholders
Good to have:
  • Experience managing a cloud service
  • Data-driven decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or a related technical role.
  • 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
  • Experience in Cloud storage and the overall public cloud ecosystem including customer requirements, market trends, competitive positioning.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience managing a cloud service.
  • Experience in getting data from various systems and leveraging that to make data-driven product decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (e.g., writing PRDs and strategy documents, writing and delivering presentations).

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy, idea, and execution for protection features within GCP customers backup requirements.
  • Drive feature/release life-cycle working with engineering and other stakeholders.
  • Influence product prioritization decisions required to grow the business.
  • Accelerate adoption and business growth by partnering with account teams and solution teams.
  • Understand the challenges and opportunities associated with building a service for scale.
