Manufacturing engineers have expertise in a wide range of manufacturing technologies and computer and management control systems. Many organisations operate 'cross-functional' teams with the manufacturing engineer involved at every stage, from design and development, to production, research and after-sales service.

  • Plans, organize, directs, coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plant & maintaining production lines. Also, planning the use of resources and scheduling activities in order to meet an objective
  • Design, evaluates, implement, maintain and improves existing operations, incorporating new methods and processes, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods and quality control standards
  • Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Confers with suppliers and customers to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
  • Working with engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs & identifying ways to reduce production costs
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions for managing budgets
  • Investigating operational problems affecting production and dealing with them in a systematic, methodical manner
  • Handling equipment purchase and installation
  • Preparing manufacturing documentation required for product manufacture & providing manufacturing data
  • Co-ordinating projects & understanding/analysing graphs/statistics or other complex information
  • Running meetings with other team members & giving presentations to engineers and colleagues in other departments

Qualifications & Competencies: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (manufacturing engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, IT/computer science).
  • Good command of writing and spoken in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Able to work as an individual as well as a good team player. 
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, analytical and planning skills.
  • Experienced in semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent MS Office tools skills.
  • Posses good knowledge in reporting/automation will be an advantage.
