Job Description

Imagine.io seeks a Lighting & Shading Artist with 2+ years experience. Responsibilities include creating benchmark materials and textures using Substance Designer, maintaining a texture and shader library, producing high-quality PBR textures for 3D models (GLB & USDZ formats), creating accurate models and UVs, implementing feedback, ensuring continuity with other departments, executing the desired look of complex CG models (fabrics, sculptures etc.), and creating seamless, non-repetitive textures for organic and hard-surface models. The ideal candidate possesses strong 3D modeling, shading, and texturing skills (Blender, Unity, Substance Designer, Marvelous Designer), an eye for detail, excellent visualization skills, and knowledge of realistic material properties. Familiarity with AR toolsets and scripting is a plus.

Job Title: Lighting & Shading artist

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience: 2+ Years

Requirements

Responsibilities:

Producing benchmark materials and textures using Substance Designer
Help create and maintain a texture and shader library that meets the aesthetic and technical goals of the project
Produce high-quality PBR textures for the 3d models, ensuring the product looks photorealistic & works well in Glb & Usdz formats.
Create high-quality, accurate models and UVs based on initial concepts and reference
Implement improvements/changes based on review feedback and Supervisor/Lead direction.
Ensure continuity and support other asset departments such as QA & modelling.
Work with the team to execute the desired look of complicated CG models, including - Wollen puff stools, handmade sculptures, Fabrics, etc.
Responsible for creating seamless non repetitive textures, in the completion of CG organic models and hard-surface models used in production.
Good sense of visualization for different product scene setup.
Most importantly the product must look hyper-realistic when it is rendered.

What are We looking for?

knowledge of 3D modelling, shading & texturing software.
Software knowledge - Blender, unity 3d, substance designer, Marvellous 3d.
An eye for detail and good visualization skills
Ability to take feedback and make changes as required
Extensive knowledge of realistic material properties & how to achieve them in different ways.
Some familiarity with AR toolsets.
Good communication skills
Technical diploma from a 3d institution or a degree in fine arts
Some scripting experience will be an added bonus
