Job Description

As a Legal Trainee at Google, you'll contribute to addressing the legal complexities of the digital age. You'll gain insights into various legal challenges at Google and YouTube, learning to navigate unexpected situations while contributing to the evolution of internet law. Responsibilities include responding to legal requests from users and third parties, assisting with court actions and lawsuit analysis, supporting product localization and agreement drafting, conducting legal research, and contributing to internal knowledge databases. This role emphasizes organizational skills, attention to detail, adaptability, and legal decision-making, offering experience in addressing 21st-century legal problems within an innovative environment. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract starting between February and March 2025.

Must have:

Master's in Law from Italian University
Fluency in English and Italian
Law firm or media/tech company experience
Legal research and analysis skills
Respond to legal requests
Assist with court actions
Support product localization

Good to have:

Data protection, copyright, tech, or media law experience
Experience with multiple projects
Knowledge of technology and IT legal issues

Minimum qualifications:

Master's degree in Law from an Italian University.
Experience in a law firm or in a media/technology company.
Ability to communicate in English and Italian fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in legal analysis and research.
Experience building relationships and communicating with people at all levels.
Experience in data protection, copyright, technology, or media law.
Experience working on numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of technology, IT-relevant legal problems, and recent developments.
Available to start between February to March 2025 for a 12 months fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

Respond to legal requests from users and third-parties in relation to Google services, and resolve internal escalations.
Assist the Legal team in the preparation and the management of court actions and in the analysis of lawsuits.
Provide support for the localization of products, marketing assessments, review, and drafting of agreements.
Conduct research on a variety of legal topics (e.g., copyright, consumer regulations, media regulations, advertising, etc.).
Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team.
