Junior Designer
- (3295832)
Role Overview:
The Springboard Studio is a design-thinking platform and team within Mass General Brigham (MGB) that engages frontline providers, patients, and staff to make healthcare more user-friendly and to advance systemwide strategic priorities and transformation. Using a process of applied creativity adapted to the time and task constrained healthcare environments found within MGB, Springboard serves as a systemwide design function that works towards implementable solutions that are at the intersection of desirability, feasibility, and viability. Springboard leverages the greatest resource within MGB, its human resources, to put patients at the center and improve the lives of providers. Solutions may be process-related care redesigns, hardware, software, or a combination thereof. The Studio works with entities internal to MGB as well as external companies, educational entities, and individuals to efficiently achieve its mission. Springboard is a continuous learning entity within MGB that adapts its methodologies and measures the impact of both its own processes and the resulting products.
Reporting to the Senior Designer, the Junior Designer serves in three primary functions:
1) facilitate and execute the design thinking methodology Springboard uses to engage stakeholders to identify and solve for challenges, bringing the voice of the customer into product development
2) manage and execute storytelling and communications design in the form of visual collateral and written narratives
3) contributes to project management and deliverables for Springboard’s strategic priorities, as required.
As a member on multiple project teams, the Junior Designer supports achievement of system-wide, cross function, strategic and transformation goals by providing project management, coordination across and between teams and team members, project communications, and logistical support to assigned project teams. This role touches multiple MGB hospitals/organizations across departments and disciplines. The Junior Designer is instrumental in contributing to project outcomes that are aligned with the Springboard Studio’s contribution to the MGB System Strategy.
