IT Purchasing and Procurement Specialist

Reporting to the IT Director, the IT Purchasing and procurement specialist will be responsible for the procurement process from start to finish. This includes identifying sourcing needs, identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts and deals, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of products and services.

Main responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate records and tracking all procurement activities via established ticketing tools and processes
• Work with IT and business stakeholders to align procurement with organizational goals
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with IT security and data protection standards during vendor evaluations and procurement processes.
• Collaborate closely with Global Procurement teams and Business Operations Partners to align procurement strategies
• Conducting market research to identify potential suppliers and products
• Analyzing supplier bids and negotiating contracts
• Evaluating suppliers and their performance periodically
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders
• Identifying areas for cost savings and implementing cost-saving strategies
• Providing regular reporting and analysis of procurement metrics to leadership
• Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of procurement regulations and laws

• Excellent communication skills: You will need to communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure that the procurement process runs smoothly.
• Negotiation skills: It is vital to negotiate with suppliers to get the best deals, including pricing and contract terms.
• Analytical skills: You need to analyze market trends, supplier prices, and industry regulations to make informed procurement decisions.
• Organizational skills: You will have to manage multiple procurement projects simultaneously while ensuring that they stay within your company’s policies, budgets, and timelines.
• Attention to detail: You must pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy when reviewing contracts, invoices, and procurement documents.
• Highlight familiarity with procurement software (e.g., Oracle) and IT-specific needs, like hardware and software licensing
• Knowledge of IT asset lifecycle management
