Head of Legal (India)

Description

• Contract Negotiation and Review (National and International agreements): Overseeing the negotiation, drafting, and review of contracts with customers, suppliers, partners, and other stakeholders/vendors to ensure the company’s interests are protected. This will include - India, US, UK, Canada and Australia.

• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure the organization complies with relevant laws and regulations across all jurisdictions where it operates. This may involve overseeing compliance programs, overseeing insurance matters, conducting audits, and providing guidance to various departments.

• Corporate Governance: Providing guidance on corporate governance matters, including board governance, and local corporate formalities along with entity formation and maintenance of corporate structure and legal reporting requirements.

• Employment related matters including but not limited to employment contracts, renewal of consultancy agreements, vendor empanelment etc.

• Litigation Management: Managing legal disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory investigations. This involves working with internal teams and external counsel to develop legal strategies and resolve disputes efficiently.

• Intellectual Property Management: Protecting the company's intellectual property rights through patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. This includes managing IP portfolios, licensing agreements, and enforcement actions.

• Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Support: Providing legal guidance and due diligence support for M&A transactions.

Key Capabilities:

• Minimum 15 years of work experience post qualification.

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Legal Head in an organization of repute.

• Experience of managing multiple stakeholders at both domestic and international locations.

• Familiarity with Films & TV Industry, including all facets of content production and distribution advantage. Including content investments and monetization of content.

Educational Qualification:

• Masters in Law.

• MBA (preferred, though not essential)
