The publicity quest to craft the legacy of Supercell’s games

We are the Supercell Corporate Brand & Communications team, a small and savvy team dedicated to helping Supercell succeed in its mission. The mission? To create great games that as many people as possible play for years and that are remembered forever!

As the 6th member of our squad, your key responsibility is to drive game-related communications strategies and executions. Game teams, community managers and marketing will be your buddies as you tackle final bosses both at the global and regional levels.

Your main responsibility is to help amplify Supercell’s on-ground marketing activations, as well as the company’s broader reputation and awareness in specific target geographic locations. What we, and you, are here to do is to embed our games within pop culture across the globe – that’s the “remembered forever” part. Ambitious? Yes. Inspiring? Yes. Achievable? Come make it happen!

To succeed in this role, you are inherently curious about how different audiences consume news and, as such, how Supercell can show up in these places digitally, virtually, and physically. You could describe yourself as both a sucker for and as well-attuned to what’s happening in pop culture. We are looking forward to you bringing your media relations smarts, resourcefulness, and decision-making intuition to the table as we make needles move!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the expansion for Supercell’s earned media footprint across key target GEOs including, but not limited to Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and Japan.
  • Supporting the creation of Supercell’s PR agency infrastructure globally, including agency hiring and ongoing management.
  • Being the key information source for media contacts requesting insights, interviews, or comments on game-related matters
  • Providing strategic communications support to longer-term marketing goals
  • Identifying and building media relationships within consumer, games and entertainment verticals, especially in key target GEOs listed above.
  • Supporting the Supercell corporate brand development work

Key Skills:

  • At least 5+ years of experience within a globally-facing, consumer products company – experience in games or the broader entertainment industry is a distinct advantage
  • Proven track record of managing successful external communications campaigns from end to end
  • Excellent English language and communication skills – with French, German or Spanish proficiency a big plus
  • Experience either in-house or on the agency side – both are a plus
  • Knowledgeable about news and trends in the games and broader entertainment space
  • Ability to exist in uncertainty and be a resourceful problem solver
  • Ability to prioritise and laser focus on what creates the most value for Supercell’s games
  • Proactive and hands-on approach to your work
  • Passion for games, especially Supercell games
