Maliyo is a Lagos-based game development studio that creates African-inspired games for mobile users with over 40 games in our portfolio. Maliyo infuses the continent’s lively culture and experiences into everything we create. Our goal is to embed Africa’s vibrant culture into video games through storylines, character development, immersive environments, captivating sounds, and strong visuals.

Essential Functions:

• Work closely with the studio’s creative and development team to manage and oversee the production of the studio’s games.
• Manage the project’s schedule and budget, ensuring that milestones are met, and the project remains within budget.
• Communicate with all stakeholders, keeping them updated on the project’s progress and making sure their needs are being met.
• Work closely with the development team, coordinating efforts to ensure the game is completed on time and to a high standard of quality.
• Anticipate, identify, and manage risks and issues that may arise during the development process.
• Establish and maintain a positive and collaborative team environment, ensuring that all team members are engaged, motivated, and focused on the project’s goals.
• Ensure that the game meets the studio’s quality standards and is delivered to the market on time and within budget.

Requirements:

• A degree in a relevant field (such as game design, computer science, or project management).
• 3+ years’ experience in a production role in the gaming industry.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, especially Scrum.
• Experience with project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, and Airtable.
• Experience in managing the production of games from start to finish.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire the team.
• Experience in budgeting and resource allocation.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Understanding of end-user needs and expectations.
• Ability to identify and solve problems quickly and effectively.
• A passion for video games and the gaming industry.
