Team17 seeks an ambitious Lead Producer to join their Third-Party Production Department. This role involves overseeing multiplatform product development from concept to release, including live operations. Responsibilities include managing a production team, crafting project plans, addressing risks, conducting regular team meetings, and ensuring project milestones are met. The ideal candidate will have proven production management experience in the games industry, a strong understanding of multiplayer gaming, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and expertise in Agile methodologies. The role also includes mentoring team members and contributing to the Product Due Diligence process.

Lead Producer (Hybrid Wakefield or Manchester studios / 4 days minimum a month office based)

Team17 is seeking an ambitious and inspirational Lead Producer to join our Third-Party Production Department. Our approach is "Service & Customer" led, focusing on the needs of our development partners. We collaborate across Team17’s talented departments to deliver world-class support, ensuring our partners achieve market success. What You’ll Work On as a Lead Producer

As Lead Producer, you will engage with a global network of talented developers, embodying our philosophy: “Your success is our success.” You will spearhead a Production Team, guiding your team of producers while also managing a significant project from concept to completion. Your leadership and problem-solving skills will be key in mentoring producers and overcoming challenges to deliver high-quality results.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of a multiplatform product, managing it from concept to release and, if required, live operations.
  • Provide accurate and timely project status updates to Department Heads and Team17 stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with developers to craft comprehensive project plans, define core objectives, address risks, and establish critical milestones.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, addressing pressing issues and escalating them as necessary.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones with team members to ensure goal alignment and project momentum.
  • Review and verify milestone reports to confirm accuracy and readiness for approval.
  • Identify and resolve project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies to maintain progress for both developers and stakeholders.
  • Uphold and instill best practices in project management within your team, focusing on quality, budget, and timelines for commercial success.
  • Mentor and support team members’ career development while expanding your team by recruiting top talent.
  • Contribute to the Product Due Diligence process to aid in scouting new game opportunities.
  • Actively participate in workshops to develop innovative processes and improve departmental efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven track record in production management within the games industry across all platforms.
  • Strong understanding of multiplayer cross-play gaming, game servers, client-to-peer architecture, and live operations (technical expertise in analytics and KPIs is a plus).
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Adept at problem-solving, decision-making, and maintaining focus in dynamic environments.
  • Hands-on approach, capable of working across all production levels, from execution to strategic planning.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies (certification preferred).
  • Ability to manage global teams effectively, fostering inclusivity and collaboration.
  • Solid knowledge of business operations, including marketing, intellectual property, contracts, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to inspire this trait in others for the team’s benefit.

Recruitment Process

Our recruitment process for the Lead Producer role includes two stages:

  1. Initial Interview (60 minutes): A conversation with the Xdev Manager and another Lead Producer to discuss your experience, production knowledge. This is also an opportunity for you to ask any question about the role.
  2. Final interview (60 minutes): Again, hosted by the Xdev Manager. A deeper evaluation of your cultural fit, business acumen, and leadership skills.

Our average process takes around 3 to 4 weeks but we will always work around your availability.
