Finance Manager Trent Fleet and Mature Engines

Derby/ Hybrid (3 days/week on site)

Full time, but other patterns will be considered.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager within the Trent Fleet & Mature Engines (TFM) finance team. The Finance team business partner with the broader TFM team driving the financial delivery of the TFM commitments. In this role, you will lead on the consolidation of the total TFM monthly financial results, being the link between the programme Finance Business Partners and the finance teams in the Financial Controller teams

TFM is a value stream with P&L accountability, from OE through to aftermarket to maximise revenue and minimise cost, for 15 aerospace engines types. Spanning from Regional engines (AE3007, BR715) through to the large Trent engines such as the Trent 700, Trent 1000 and Trent 7000. Each engine type is at a different stage in its product lifecycle bringing differing opportunities and challenges.  The value stream is split into 5 main areas: Fleet Management, Trent 1000 Delivery,  Contract Management, Programmes and Mature Engines.

This challenging role will allow you to gain excellent insight into the breadth of Rolls-Royce’s Aerospace business and see how it all works together. You will partner across the value stream consolidating and summarising the 15 programmes into a coherent TFM message. What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Lead on the consolidation of the total TFM monthly financial results, being the link between the programme Finance Business Partners and the finance teams in the Financial Controller teams. Providing insight to the TFM leadership team on progress and levers / actions that need to be taken to drive financial performance to meet our commitments.
  • Lead on the forecasting process (in year forecasts, budget and 5-year plan) for TFM, set the timetable, drive the outcomes and consolidate the total TFM position. Providing insight on risks and opportunities to ensure robust, accurate and challenging plans are set.    
  • Stewardship and Control lead for TFM, stewardship and control are critical to everything that we do in finance. Embed stewardship and control into TFM Finance and then maintain and continue to improve it.
  • Deputise, as required, for the SVP Finance on  operational, commercial & financial decision making.

  • Can quickly understand complex issues and summarise and articulate them in a simple and concise manner.
  • Energy and drive – a self-starter, prepared to challenge the status quo and proactively identify/implement process improvements.
