This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco or Los Angeles offices and will require you to be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We are seeking a Director of Product, Trust & Safety to lead Grindr’s work in ensuring our users have a safe experience on our platform. The Director of Product, Trust & Safety will lead all efforts to ensure the integrity of users accounts and activities, including the elimination of spam, fake accounts, illegal activities and harmful conduct, and ensuring that only adults are on the platform. Additionally, this leader will partner with customer experience to improve operations and moderation, and drive new technologies into our product experience, including automation and AI. This is an integral role for Grindr and our millions of users across the globe.
What’s the job?
- Integrity of Accounts/User Activity: Lead product efforts to eliminate fake accounts, spam, illegal activity and other harmful conduct on the platform, and ensure that only adults are on the platform
- Partner with Customer Experience to improve operations and moderation through technology, including internal web-based tools and AI
- Develop user-facing mobile work including safety strategies like verification and other user privacy settings
- Drive automation improvements and uplevel workflows providing users a safer experience, preventing spam and bots on the platform.
- Policy Implementation: Develop new policy with Legal, Privacy, CX and Marketing, and translate it into technical processes that work in concert with operational processes
- Performance Monitoring: Define & report on key performance indicators via regular audits and assessments, to identify and mitigate potential safety risks to our users and our business
- Crisis Management: Prepare for and respond to crises that impact user trust and safety, in collaboration with our Legal, Comms, and Investor Relations teams
- Keep up with regulatory changes and other industry trends to continually enhance user safety
What we'll love about you
- 10-15 years of experience as a Product Manager focused on Trust & Safety, in a global social platform, direct-to-consumer (DTC) company, or alike
- In-depth knowledge of online safety issues, policies, and best practices including eliminating spam, bots, bad actors and other illegal activities online.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with proven experience implementing automations for better workflows; ideally with in depth knowledge of how to use AI to do this
- Experience building product for sensitive areas of content, including freedom of expression, prevention of minors accessing platforms meant for adults, and user generated content
- Strong analytical skills, including working with large data sets to identify and solve business problems
- Strong XFN relationship management skills, including the ability to influence and drive consensus among senior leadership

This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, location, and market demands.
