Job Description

Playtika seeks a Senior/Expert Data Scientist to join its AI Department in Lausanne, Switzerland. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on recommendation systems, leveraging machine learning and Bayesian statistics to enhance player experience. Responsibilities include discussing business opportunities, leading ML research, developing prototypes, analyzing real-time production impact, and presenting findings to stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving skills, deep theoretical and practical knowledge of ML/Bayesian statistics, proficiency in Python, and excellent communication skills. Experience with recommender systems, causal inference, and SQL are significant advantages.

Playtika is looking for a Senior/ Expert Data Scientist to join the AI Department. This position is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

We are looking for people with exceptional soft skills and outstanding hard skills.

We love to address complex intellectual challenges and make sense of high dimensional and dynamical data that impact the game experience of millions of players.

You will join a multidisciplinary team focusing on recommendation systems. We use strong statistical fundamentals with classical and cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) to provide a better experience for our players. Our solutions translate directly to production (as part of a product) and serve the business needs from different use-cases & multiple studios.

We are looking for a senior/expert Data Scientist to join a multi-disciplinary team of experts (Data Scientists, Machine Learning & Platform engineers, architect, and product manager).

Over the past 5 years, we have implemented a real-time recommendation engine based on Bayesian multi-armed bandits (see our , and the of our AI solution). Our solution is now expanding to more use-cases and needs more algorithmic capabilities (quantitative recommendations, sequential recommendations, and bundle recommendations).

We are looking for an exceptional Data Scientist, with strong problem-solving skills, to join and enjoy with us a dynamic and stimulating environment.

Responsibilities:

Discuss business opportunities with stakeholders, and propose relevant DS product/solutions
Propose, lead, and conduct ML research applied to users’ recommendations and experience personalization
Identify, propose and perform the development of new DS prototypes
Analyze & demonstrate the impact of our solutions in real-time production
Own the value of DS solution: from scoping & prototyping throughout entire production life. Identify the need to adjust and pivot, be able to negotiate requirements/capabilities with the stakeholders.
Enable transfer and best usage of the solution by stakeholders after value demonstration
Propose & contribute to scientific papers, blogs, conferences, etc.
Mentor DS/MLE colleagues and act as DS Subject Matter Expert within the organization

Requirements:

Sc. in Data Science / Statistics / Engineering or others quantitative fields
5+ years of work experience
Strong problem-solving and scientific reasoning skills, to efficiently shape and drive complex data science projects
Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of Machine Learning and/or Bayesian statistics
Proficiency in Python, working experience with is an advantage
Experience with causal inference is a significant advantage
Ability to present complex projects to non-experts (e.g., product managers, business domain experts, executives)

Nice to have

PhD in Data Science / Statistics / Engineering or others quantitative fields
Experience with recommender systems (e.g., multi-armed bandits)
Proficiency in SQL, working experience of GIT
Knowledge of Hive and Hadoop, plus notions of Spark
Experience with model deployment, CI/CD not required, but a plus
