Summary

The Data Center Services Manager is responsible for design, construction, and capital project support for ongoing data center operations. This role requires tactical leadership over build projects, team development (engineers and project managers), and vendor management. The ideal candidate is a proactive subject matter expert with experience in developing technical facilities and fostering a collaborative culture among stakeholders. Responsibilities include interacting with external stakeholders, aligning teams around project delivery strategies, providing leadership to internal project management and engineering teams, overseeing project schedules and costs, and developing a customer-service oriented organization.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years program management experience
  • 10 years experience in mission-critical facilities
  • 7 years leadership experience
  • Experience in data center equipment and environments
Good to have:
  • 10 years managing cross-functional projects
  • 7 years supervisory experience
  • Experience with medium/low voltage electrical distribution systems
  • Experience with SCADA tools and PLC controls

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management.
  • 10 years of experience in the design-build or real estate development environment
  • 10 years of experience in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, chip fab, etc.).
  • 7 years of experience in leadership role(s) with/without direct reports.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional/team projects.
  • 7 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in data center equipment/environments, including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring systems, fire safety systems and working understanding of start up/commissioning processes.
  • Experience in design, construction, and commissioning of facilities with medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems to include AC and DC systems and associated power management systems and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition tools, central utility plant and piping/duct systems and associated Programmable Logic Controller and digital based controls and automation platform.

You will provide tactical leadership over build projects, develop teams of engineers and project managers; and serve as the partner/vendor development lead for general and trade level contractors. You are a proactive manager and subject matter experts with experience developing technical facilities. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Interact with leadership from external stakeholders, trades, commissioning agents to develop understanding of project issues, risks, and opportunities across multiple functions.
  • Align teams around an understanding of project delivery strategy, functional milestones, and workflow for capital improvement and greenfield projects in order to focus stakeholders on active critical path management.
  • Provide leadership and development focus to internal teams consisting of project management and engineering roles, oversee active project schedule and cost control activities, and act as an advocate and partner for implementation of program level controls, safety, and quality initiatives.
  • Develop an organization with a customer service orientation to internal stakeholders on both the data center and hardware operations sides of the business, cultivating a project delivery strategy and working to align extended stakeholders around the nuances of that strategy.
