GTM - Product Marketing Manager

Job Description:

PMMs are part of the research and inception of consumer insights that drive a product, then create a plan and deliver success through a deep understanding and consistent championing of the needs of global customers. PMMs are a critical voice of the customer in the entire product lifecycle from needs identification and prioritization, through design and release iterations, and finally through the commercial launch and success monitoring.  

Your day-to-day

The role of a Product Marketer is comprised of two primary areas of responsibility and activity: inbound and outbound. Both activities help to define, design and ultimately deliver on the promise of the go-to-market plan for PayPal products.  

From an inbound perspective, the Product PMM continually defines the most important customer needs and opportunities. Product PMM’s actively interact with customers to deeply understand their needs as well as any unique country or regulatory requirements. They also help answer priority customer questions and requests, providing deep expertise about our products and how they are best used, appropriately handing off issues and bugs to the global product and support teams. Market PMM’s will constantly collaborate with their Product PMMs and product management (PM) peers across the globe to distill the set of needs in growth markets into an overall set of prioritized needs and opportunities.

From an outbound perspective, the role will construct and document the go-to-market plan for the products in your market, followed by close collaboration with their product counterparts to lead the in-market activities required to ensure successful Pilot testing and Product feedback. PMM also works with Marketing and other functions to design and execute programs that educate our customers and drive demand and sales. And finally, PMM works with finance and analytics on pricing, segmentation sizing, and setting business KPIs.

What you need to bring

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of relevant work-experience  
  • Understanding of payments ecosystem is preferred
  • Experience working in one of the following areas: 

o Product Marketing Management

o Marketing Strategy

o Product related roles

o Consulting

  • Experience creating and articulating customer centric value propositions
  • Strong analytical skills, with ability to translate data and customer feedback into insights
  • A problem solver with a high degree of business acumen, experience with strategy development, and the ability to work across a matrixed environment and collaborate and influence effectively at all levels
  • Curious and energized by a deep understanding of what customers care about, what their goals are, the evolving global payments and shopping landscape
  • Self-starter who can manage priorities, meet deadlines and has exceptional project management skills, inclusive of the ability to lead and organize the development of marketing materials, new research, or new business proposals
