The BIM Intern will assist the Facilities Asset Management team in various aspects of CAD/BIM projects, including setup, template creation, library management, and drafting/modeling standards adherence. Responsibilities include meeting minute-taking, daily reporting, on-site job walks, photo documentation, and contributing to site safety plans. The intern will gain experience in AutoCAD, Revit 3D modeling (Architecture, Structure, Electrical, and/or Mechanical), and basic GIS systems. The internship runs approximately from June to December 2025 and requires proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • BIM project setup assistance
Good to have:
  • BIM 360 suite experience
  • Experience with BSD Spec Link & Linkman-E

About the Role & Program

Facility Asset Management (FAM) provide construction project management services for the Walt Disney World Resort.

FAM focuses on maintaining the parks, attractions, rides, resorts, roads, retail shops and restaurants while preserving the overall show quality of our Pars and Resorts! Their outstanding construction management staff leads field aspects of construction projects including supervising field construction activities, ensuring the client's requirements regarding functionality and standards are met! This role works withing a team that provides technical support to team members from multiple design fields as well as project management teams to allow them to efficiently implement their project portfolios.

The approximate dates of this internship are June - December 2025.

What You Will Do

As a member of the Facilities Asset Management, your responsibilities may include:

  • Assist project team in CAD / BIM project setup. Set-up templates, workspaces, libraries, sheet-sets, line-weights, hyperlinking and plots
  • Learn and assist with company drafting and modeling standards and procedures
  • Digital A/E library and template management
  • Detail current projects by keeping meeting minutes, daily reports, attending on-site job walks and photo documentation
  • Develop an understanding of Construction Site safety and assist in preparation of Site Specific safety plans

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (esp. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements
  • Experience in using AutoCAD (2020 or higher)
  • Experience in Revit 3D modeling (Architecture, Structure, Electrical and/or Mechanical)
  • Basic knowledge of GIS systems
  • Basic knowledge of BSD Spec Link & Linkman-E

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in BIM 360 suite
  • Successful completion of the Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

Education

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4-year college or university majoring in Architecture, Construction Management or Engineering program
  • Junior, Senior or Graduate student status by arrival date

Preferred Education

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Note: Please, no rounding) as shown on a transcript.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.  
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants:  You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.   

Additional Information

  • Be compliant with appearance guidelines
  • Fully available from Monday through Friday with occasional weekends or holidays pending project need, up to 40 hours each week, early mornings or late nights are a possibility, bulk of work time will be during traditional 8am-5pm
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

The pay rate for this role in Orlando FL is $30 for undergraduate student per hour and $35 for graduate student per hour.
