The Analyst, Shopping, Trust and Safety role at Google focuses on improving user and merchant experiences on Google Shopping. Responsibilities include designing integrations between business objectives and systems, conducting strategic analysis to optimize business performance, managing projects with multiple stakeholders, and conducting data-oriented analysis to influence business decision-making. The role also involves investigating fraud, enforcing product policies, identifying scam patterns, and pinpointing product vulnerabilities. This position works closely with product and engineering teams to ensure new features provide a safe and positive user experience. The work directly contributes to Google's broader Trust & Safety mission of creating a safer online environment.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years data analytics experience
  • SQL, dashboard building skills
  • Fraud investigation experience
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
Good to have:
  • Master's degree
  • Experience with ML
  • Python scripting
  • Experience in Internet advertising or e-commerce

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in data analytics, Trust and Safety, policy, cybersecurity, or related fields.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with fraud or policy investigations, fraud risk management, Internet advertising, or e-commerce.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with ML.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

In this role, you will be responsible for improving user and merchant experience on Google Shopping and create positive experience for customers. You will also work with product and engineering teams to make sure that new products and features provide a good, safe experience for users.

We partner with teams across Google to deliver bold solutions in abuse areas such as malware, spam and account hijacking. A diverse team of Analysts, Policy Specialists, Engineers, and Program Managers, we work to reduce risk and fight abuse across all of Google’s products, protecting our users, advertisers, and publishers across the globe in over 40 languages.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement integrations between business objectives and business systems, including designing and building strategies that support these business systems.
  • Conduct strategic analysis, optimize business performance, deliver within product areas including analyzing data, identifying trends, and developing solutions that improve business performance.
  • Manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, timelines, organizational implications, and changing circumstances.
  • Conduct data-oriented analysis, architect metrics, synthesize information, solve problems, and influence business decision-making by presenting insights and market trends.
  • Conduct investigations to catch fraudsters, enforce product policies, learn scam patterns/trends, and identify product vulnerabilities.
